Perfect location; affordable price

Liked:For the price, we didn’t expect fancy but serviceable. And it was. Bed was comfortable. AC worked well. Mini fridge kept our drinks and fruit nice and cold. Water pressure and hot water were inconsistent but enough to clean yourself. No toiletries except for toilet paper and soap. The shower is slippery so we bought a bath mat from across the way at Mega. We were above the No Name Bar but there wasn’t excessive noise. Note about No Name Bar: great service, as well as the drinks and food. Easy walking distance from the port and downtown, as well as all sorts of restaurants. Right across the street from the Mega supermercado. I encourage everyone to walk inland. There are a lot of local restaurants that are more delicious than the restaurants on the Main Street.

Negative outweigh the view

Liked:All of the negatives listed in previous reviews are true. Gnats in the drains and a roach here and there, which is why I didn’t eat in the restaurant attached. The balcony was fantastic and a good spot for divers if you don’t mind the negatives.

Plus and minus

Liked:We met a friend there that likes this place. The positives: Great location across from the Mega supermercado, near everything downtown, on the ocean, nice snorkeling from the cove in front (moray's and fish to see), dive shop on site, good pool/bar/sitting area. Negatives: I had a 100% kill rate on the 4 cockroaches in the bathroom, a/c noisy, warped back door doesn't shut all the way, old furnishings. But what do you expect for something this price?

Better than Expected!

Liked:I didn't have high expectations for this hotel. I chose it based on the price and the ability to catch my dive boat off the hotel dock. I really wanted to experience this old classic Cozumel divers hotel. Plus it was cheap and it was within easy walking distance to everything. I was not disappointed in anything. Its older but its clean. The pool is really nice and I enjoyed jumping in it when we returned from diving. The rinse tanks were also convenient. Pick up from the dock was exactly as I hoped. Our dive boat arrived every morning to wisk us away for our 2-tank morning dives. No worries about getting to the dive shop or the marina. No hauling gear! The rooms are pretty spacious. Decent bathroom with the best water pressure! The only thing that the room was lacking for me was a coffee maker. You cant get coffee from the bar early enough here. I suggest buying a coffee maker from the Mega and using it in the room. This is not a luxury hotel by any means but its a solid budget hotel if your standards aren't too high. I would stay again!
