Exceptional Service from the pool staff

Liked:We stayed at The Kahala Resort on August 8 (Room 720) to celebrate my son’s birthday, as we do every year. This time, I especially want to recognize Richard, who was working at the pool. He was incredibly kind and attentive. He helped us with our pool wristbands when we were looking for a spot, and when we needed towels after swimming, he personally brought them to us even though the towels had run out. He also made sure my son and his friends had a wonderful time celebrating his birthday. Another staff member who was working at the pool with Richard between 3:00 and 7:00 p.m. was also very kind and helpful. Unfortunately, I didn’t get his name, but I truly appreciate both of them. Thank you, Richard and the pool team, for making my son’s birthday even more special. Love the KAHALA

Liked:Been going to the Kahaha since 1975 . . . Kahala Hilton, Kahala Mandarin-Oriental, and now the Kahala Resort. Remains our favorite place on Oahu. Everything . . . rooms, personnel, dining . . . Alan Wong is superb . . . and the low-key atmosphere of the resort makes it a wonderful place to be. My only negative - from my most recent visit (August 2026) was the internet . . . it was terrible. Very spotty, dropping out at an inopportune time (as in the middle of a Zoom business meeting). I contacted IT, and they were very responsive but, sadly, unable to fix the problem. I was told that I was not the only person with this complaint. Having said that . . . the KAHALA RESORT is FABULOUS!

Great memory for our 20th anniversary stay

Liked:We got married at the beach adjacent to Kahala hotel and just celebrated our 20th year anniversary here for 5 nights. I am happy to share that overall we had an amazing experience and will definitely consider returning again for our future trips! The 4.25/5 rating is driven by spectacular grounds with dolphin (5/5 for Dolphin Quest highly recommend to spend $300/person; also great for free sighting of dolphin), the serene beach that I loved walking by and swimming inside daily (5/5, much better than Waikiki; not as great as Lani Kai or Turtle Bay but as good as it gets in South Oahu), highly consistent service (4/5; everyone is polite and professional; although no one really went out of their ways to do anything extra from daily valet, multiple spa, daily breakfast, Alan Wong’s brunch), high quality food (5/5, amazing Breakfast Buffet, Alan Wong’s brunch worth $100+ although the selection could use a bit more variety), and generally pleasant rooms (3/5; slightly dated rom decor for its price. Uninvited Milipedes in my mom’s room but we are at Dolphin Lagoon room next to garden so it’s understandable. Would prob appreciate if a housekeeping or front desk manager could follow up vs the agent treating it as normal as this is the first I have experienced and it happened twice in the stay; we also tip $10 daily for housekeeping and didn’t ask for anything for the incidents as we understand tropical grounds is out of hotel’s control). We are very glad to have chosen Kahala for our 20th anniversary and would recommend this beautiful property to any one who likes to experience a serene Hawaii with steps away from Waikiki in a beautiful property.
