Beware under renovation, drilling, bang, the Club Lounge and Gym closed for renovations

Liked:Fantastic location, but the renovation's ruin just about everything else. Enjoying our view from our balcony was interrupted by extremely loud drilling and hammering all day. Forget trying to sleep in or take a nap during the day unless you are lulled to sleep by construction noise. The Club Lounge attached to our “Club Suite,” is also closed for renovations, as is the gym. No notice was given to us of this, which meant no breakfast or afternoon drinks and nibbles in the afternoon we were looking forward to and is usually part of the “Club Suite” experience. We were not offered alternatives or compensation. Very disappointing. Also, loyalty is not rewarded as I come every year. Not again.

Disliked:Hotel under construction and the noise and disarray was distracting and not at all attractive. Was not a conductive atmosphere for a relaxing vacation. It was a disappointing stay.

Beware if you book a Club Suite during renovations - it’s closed and breakfast and cocktails not included

Liked:I was so excited and we saved up to book a “Club Suite”for my 60th birthday with my best friend’s 5 year cancer free. On checking in I asked reception what floor the club was on so excited about the afternoon cocktails and nibbles. I was bluntly informed it was closed as part of the renovations and told that the website showed they were doing renovations. I said that I had read that renovations were underway “in select public spaces,” but it did not mention that the club was closed and asked how could I be aware of that when I booked a Club Suite?” If there was no Club should why did they offer “Club Suites?” They replied that was Booking.com’s fault and I should take it up with them. When I asked if the simple solution could be that we could have breakfast in one of their two other restaurants (as the club package included breakfast in the club and afternoon drinks and nibbles) I was told “no” and again that I should call Booking.com as they knew the club was closed and they made the mistake. I asked to speak to a manager. Aimee repeated the above but added she would refund our booking if we left by 4.30 pm that day if we wanted to find another hotel that could offer Club facilities. I was so shocked by that response. I called Booking.com a total of 8 times, before this was resolved today with breakfast vouchers which I had to chase up with reception to obtain. No apology, but the comment “this is not normally included but we have made an exception because the Club closed in February. Sadly disappointed as I was thanked on checking in for my loyalty in returning to the hotel from Sydney, Australia every year for the last 10 years.

Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort offers Valet parking only. Only the "Breakfast Included" rate includes a daily breakfast for 2 adults. Additional breakfasts can be purchased for an additional fee. If travelling with children, please indicate each child's age in the special requests comment field when making reservations. Complimentary cultural activities are available, please contact the property for the schedule. Beach services are subject to charges. Stays arriving after December 22, 2015, will be subject to the Waikiki Connection Fee (resort fee). The daily resort fee will be collected directly from guest upon check-out. Fee is subject to change with notice.
