House Keeping Stole 1300usd

Liked:My experience at Blue Bay Curaçao was extremely disappointing due to a serious breach of privacy and security. While the island of Curaçao is absolutely beautiful and we truly enjoyed exploring it, what happened at this property overshadowed our stay. We stayed in a private villa for a short trip and did not request housekeeping services. Despite this, someone entered our villa without our knowledge or consent. This is completely unacceptable, especially in what is supposed to be a secure and private accommodation. To make matters worse, management has been inconsistent and slow in addressing the situation. We were told there are logs and systems to track staff access, yet getting clear answers has been extremely difficult. The lack of accountability and transparency has only added to the frustration. This was not just an inconvenience—it was a violation of privacy and trust. I strongly urge future guests to be cautious and to not assume their belongings or personal space are secure. Again, the island itself is amazing, but based on this experience, I would not recommend staying here.

A class bait & switch - travelers be warned!

Liked:My experience with Blue Bay Resort has been incredibly frustrating and honestly unacceptable from start to finish. I originally booked my stay on July 23, and on January 18 I even took the extra step to reconfirm my reservation. At that time, they clearly confirmed that I was booked at The Shore with an ocean view. Then, just days before my trip—on March 23—I found out through a Curaçao travel Facebook group (not from the resort itself) that people’s reservations were being changed from The Shore building to The Jazmyn units. This was the first I had heard of any issue. I was supposed to leave for my trip on March 26, so learning this at the last minute was incredibly stressful. From March 23 through March 25, I was emailing back and forth with Blue Bay, scrambling to come up with a solution. During that time, they gave me multiple, inconsistent explanations about why the specific unit I booked AND confirmed—a 3-bedroom ground-level unit at The Shore—was no longer available. When I asked for clarification or more details, I was told the information was “confidential,” which only made the situation more frustrating and suspicious. They continuously told me their hands were tied and there was nothing they could do. The Shore unit was not available and continued to sell The Jazmyn as an upgrade. On March 25, they suddenly “found” a 4-bedroom penthouse at The Shore for my family to stay in. However, this option was only available for four of our seven nights, meaning we would still need to move to The Jazmyn on April 1 for the remainder of our trip. At that point, with my departure just one day away, I felt I had no real choice and accepted the arrangement. (I suppose I should be thankful as staying at The Jazmyn gave me a first hand experience in how FAR from an upgrade that location is and how much I had truly been misled.) They also offered the use of a golf cart for the week to help us get to the beach from The Jazmyn, as well as two beach cabanas for one day of our stay. While I appreciate these gestures, they do not make up for the lack of transparency, the conflicting explanations, and the way this situation was handled overall. The biggest issue is that they appear to be changing reservations without any notice and then calling it an “upgrade.” In reality, The Jazmyn is a downgrade—it’s smaller, has a golf course (ours had a pile of dirt and construction barrel) view instead of an ocean view, and is farther from the beach and main amenities. Calling this an upgrade is completely misleading. The decor and amenities at The Shore were 100x nicer. The mattress at The Jazmyn was no more than 3 inches thick. I had a sore back for the three days we were there. The "private pool" on our deck was far from private. The homes are right next to each other offering ZERO privacy and constant noise. The Shore was isolated, private and stunning in every day. It is obvious why the Jazmyn is priced less per night than The Shore and yet, Blue Bay tried to sell this as an upgrade. Blue Bay's team reached out to speak with me and ensure we were satisfied with the trip. Unfortunately, this attempt at good will only added to the frustration. They scheduled calls with me for 1:00 PM on two consecutive days, but both times they failed to call at the agreed time. Instead, they called late—once at 1:15 and again at 1:25—showing a clear disregard for my time. What’s most concerning is that if I had not come across the information in the Curaçao Facebook group, I would have arrived with my family expecting the unit I booked, only to be told on arrival that I was being placed in a completely different accommodation and that it was somehow an “upgrade.” It is an obvious downgrade, and the attempt to frame it otherwise is deeply misleading. Overall, I feel misled and taken advantage of. The lack of communication, last-minute changes, conflicting stories, and misrepresentation of accommodations make their practices feel deceptive and completely unacceptable. While at Blue Bay, I spoke with numerous guests who expressed similar concern. Based on other reviews and these conversations, this is NOT an isolated incident and is certainly something travelers should consider when planning a trip to Curacao. There are many options for accommodations and Blue Bay does not deserve your business.

Don't expect the unit you booked. Reservation management is incompetent or dishonest

Liked:Incompetent or dishonest management will take your money and switch you to whatever they have left or are trying to sell. I booked and paid for the beachfront units 9 months in advance. While in flight to Curacao I received an email saying they "upgraded" us to a golf course room that would have cost 25% less. Never offered any compensation and lied repeatedly about why they were doing it. When I demanded the room I booked or a refund, they finally gave my money back. Since it was spring break, my options were limited but I couldn't imagine letting Blue Bay keep my money and treat me like this. I posted about it to a Curacao FB group and found several others had similar issues. Pictures attached. I have since contacted CEO of Blue Bay Sepp Koster. He initially responded he would look into it if I provided reservation information but then never followed up. My best guess is the reservation team is being compensated for moving people to the Jazmyn units and signing them up for a sales pitch.
