Excellent renovation!

Liked:A very nice renovation has turned this Hampton back into a very worthwhile stop. In my last visit there several years back I thought the basic layout had great possibilities but that it was in bad need of an upgrade. It got it. This hotel isn’t the standard boxy model, more spacious and attractive. Comfortable, good service, nice location across from the National Park. I give it high marks, and it’s back on my list of good places to stop along I-20.

Don’t stop expecting to sleep

Liked:Stayed one night while traveling home from vacation. The hotel was not dirty, but it also didn’t feel especially clean or well-maintained. The room had a damp, musty smell and felt humid or sticky throughout our stay. The biggest issue was noise. We could hear vehicles revving engines and driving by throughout the night, which made it difficult to get any sleep. The beds were quite firm and uncomfortable. We were traveling through and stopped instead of driving for a couple more hours and ended up wishing we had driven on. My biggest disappointment was the value. At over $200 for one night, I expected a much more comfortable and restful experience. Between the noise, room condition, and overall comfort level, I would not choose this property again ever.
