Safe stable comfortable real house

Liked:Thank you for your Hospitality Mrs Melanie! I stayed there with my daughter during the holidays. The house was meticuloisly clean, the furniture style classic, very warm when outside was freezing blizzards.

Liked:Given the cost of the place and its location near York University, the comfortable bed made the uncomfortable aspects bearable. Very quiet area of town, which made for a good night's sleep.

Disliked:The stay could have been hosted by a robot, as there was no human interaction for my entire stay. The bathroom is shared, with a subpar door lock. The bathroom was expected to be cleaned; however, the shower curtain was dirty, the tub didn't drain well, and no safety gloves were provided for cleaning. Perhaps the courtesy of knowing who was rummaging around the place would have added a layer of safety and care.

Perfect for visiting the University

Liked:Stayed for the location proximity to York Uni. Bed was comfortable. Also very clean. Hosts were generous with the communal tea facilities with bread, cakes and fresh fruit every day.

Disliked:I had a single room with a shared bathroom which was an ensuite to twol bedrooms. Noone was staying in the other room the entire week I was here, but I think it should have been weird if there was a stranger there. You'd bump into one another in the bathroom... Aircon was very cold and it's centrally controlled, so I was freezing 🥶 I did ask the hosts to put up the temperature, which they did. But again, if there were more people staying in the guest house not sure how much influence I would have on the entire house temperature.

Overall I had a fabulous experience and Melanie is very warm and friendly host

Liked:The place was extremely close to Yirk university which was d biggest bonus fir me. Also easily access bus available from just outside the property. Centrally located and very safe . Melanie was extremely courteous and made sure things were in place. 2 incidents I wish to highlight: once there was a glitch with the hot water in the washrooms and she made sure she took care of it and got it fixed as soon as possible. In d meanwhile she made arrangements fir hot water for bathing for the guests . Tht was very kind of her. On another instance she went out of her way to make breakfast for me one morning and tht was d kindest gesture.

Disliked:I wasn't very comfortable with d bathroom not being cleaned everyday . Because it was used by other guests also, sometimes it used to d soiled until it was cleaned in 2 days.
