Good solid option for Phoenix area

Liked:Nice hotel located in and amongst the buttes however if you have any sort of mobility issues or disability it’s probably not for you. Everything is up and down and the walk from some rooms to the restaurant is like a 10 minute hike. Some of the walkways are extremely steep and pebble covered. Rooms are renovated with a great mattress and lots of room in the bathroom. Take a king with a patio if you can. It’s beautiful in the morning on the patio. Top of the Rock restaurant was so-so but the Market Cafe for breakfast was very nice. Omelettes were good and service was fast. Close to the airport as well. Staff is very friendly.

It was not a nice relaxing evening/night as we had hoped

Disliked:The two main complaints were: 1. TV remote did not work. IT took three phone calls to the front desk over a 2 1/2 hour period to get a working remote. 2. There were teenagers running up and down the hall yelling and being loud for over 4 hours (until 2:00am) other guests asked them to be quiet and one guest said they already called the front desk but no one came to address the issue.

I would recommend it as a highly quaint facility to experience at least once.

Liked:Very unusual to be built in the hillside, gave it a quaint feeling. The kids use the pool every day. We had lunch at the Grill area while we played cards. It was a lot of fun. We had dinner on the rock and it was excellent. It was conveniently located for airport drop off
Disliked:The fact that it was located in a secluded area, I don’t know know why they had to charge us a daily parking fee. Nobody else could park there unless they were using the hotel facilities to me. It was a senseless charge.

Picturesque Marriott Phoenix Resort Tempe At The Buttes

Liked:Some of the best getaways for travelers are resort's with a beautiful pool. At the Marriott Phoenix Resort Tempe at The Butte, the swimming pools are more than just a place to cool off. It’s also where guests sip a cool drink from the Thirsty Cactus Bar and enjoy a flavorful meal while relaxing in a lounge chair. This hotel was built in the 1980s, and is sculpted into the natural contours of the butte itself. Th unique terraced architecture follows the rise and fall of the rock formation carved into the desert landscape. There are cascading waterfalls and tiered whirlpools built into desert-rock surroundings. Not only does this add to the beauty of the outdoor ambiance, it is also striking vantage points when the sun sets, and the desert air cools for the stars to shine brightly. The resort recently refreshed their 353 guest rooms and suites redesigned to emphasize a contemporary aesthetic. Subtle Southwestern influences include warm natural hues echoing the surrounding environment. Rooms are designed for relaxation with plush pillow-top beds, soft linens, ambient lighting, and functional workspaces. Marble bathrooms have spa-inspired amenities to enhance a sense of quiet luxury. Be sure to make a reservation at The signature dining venue, Top of the Rock is a favorite for locals and resort guests. It’s an architectural masterpiece with its geometric pavilion design offering 360 degree views of Phoenix and the surrounding mountain ranges. Sunset dinners are popular on the cliffside dining terrace, Top of the Rock, to sit by the glass-wrapped dining room in a comfortable booths for glorious views of Camelback Mountain, the Twin Peaks, Superstition Mountain and twinkling city lights. Order a cheese or charcuterie board, the crispy wrapped tuna served as cigars in a box. Open the lid for a multi-sensory experience. They have grilled proteins and fresh seasonal salads. Below the lobby is another dining venue, the Market Café, where you can sip a cup of Rooted Grounds coffee and enjoy a breakfast buffet or a la carte meal next to a picturesque waterfall and pond. For wellness opportunities, the Narande Spa incorporates locally inspired ingredients in their skincare products they use for facials, massages, and body treatments. The resort also offers a modern fitness center equipped with Matrix Fitness machines for guests to integrate their own devices to connectivity for streaming workouts or entertainment. For outdoor enthusiasts, take one of the nearby trails for easy access to desert hikes directly from the property. One is near the entrance of the property for 360 degree views of the Spring Training facilities, including the Los Angeles Angels. Despite its secluded location nestled in the butte, this desert-resort is conveniently just three miles away from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. It’s also minutes away from ASU in Tempe for visiting parents, and to shopping in Scottsdale and entertainment in downtown Phoenix. I like how The Marriott Phoenix Resort Tempe at The Buttes has a new refresh to provide guests with comfortable rooms and suites, dramatic swimming pools, a relaxing spa, and stellar dining venues with spectacular views.
