Lovley vintage vibes.

Liked:Staff was great, the bar downstairs is nice and the food is good. It has changed ownership so not what we were expecting but it was still a decent stay. The rooms were very clean. The soft towels and robes were a nice touch.

Disliked:The TVs were tiny and the one in our living room was in a cabinet that the doors blocked. It was impossible to watch unless you move the TV to table in the room. Each room is significantly different in design but if they have multiple available they will let you see and choose. I wish they were all a but more the aesthetic of our room which was vintage but felt more designed while others were a little kitchy and dark.

I would consider staying here again even if I need to be in Berkeley or San Francisco.

Liked:No breakfast. Wasn't expecting one. This is a very interesting hotel. We stayed in the Annex, which is a little hard to find. It does not look impressive from the outside but the interior decor is beautiful and unusual with high ceilings, wood panelling, a nice sitting room and eating area, brand new bathroom with marble floors. Compared to what you get for twice as much in Berkeley, or SF, it's a good deal.

Disliked:We needed a clearer idea of where the annex is in relation to the main building. Finding the parking lot in the dark is also difficult. The shower door in our room did not close properly and so water leaked out all over the bathroom floor.

Cute location and darling original historic building, with contactless entry and limited charm in our annex building.

Liked:It is in a cute part of Richmond, an area we'd never explored before. Lots of interesting shops.

Disliked:The room was narrow with only one window, so despite a tall ceiling, it felt claustrophobic. A skylight was undoubtedly created to open things up, but for me, it just introduced light directly toward my eyes, interrupting my sleep. Others may find it just fine.
