An absolute nightmare

Disliked:⭐ 1/5 — Extremely disappointing and distressing experience Unfortunately, my experience at Fira Rooms Barcelona Hospitalet was extremely disappointing and distressing, and what happened completely ruined my holiday. When I first arrived, the room immediately had a horrible, unpleasant smell and felt very dark, dingy and unwelcoming. The window did not provide any pleasant view or natural light; instead, it looked directly onto a dark and messy internal corridor. Throughout my stay, there were other residents constantly coming in and out of the building, which made me feel very uncomfortable and unsafe staying there alone. Because I was so unhappy with the condition and atmosphere of the room, I contacted Booking.com that same evening to request a refund. I tried to make the best of the situation, but after an awful night’s sleep, I eventually left the room and spent the day walking around Barcelona because I simply could not bear the thought of staying there. The situation became even more distressing when I returned to find out that my booking had been completely cancelled. I immediately contacted the hotel because I needed to collect my belongings, including my passport, suitcase and essential medication, which I take for a serious medical condition. Despite explaining the urgency and telling them that I had a flight to catch, I was told that I could not enter the property to collect my own belongings because nobody was available until the following day. I repeatedly explained that my medication was inside the room and that I needed access to it, but I still wasn’t given immediate access. Communication was also extremely difficult. There was only one gentleman available by telephone who could speak English, and although I was eventually able to speak with him, he was only available on two occasions. The lack of communication and support made an already frightening situation even more stressful.

Good location near the metro, but overall comfort was ruined by issues with cleanliness, mold, and poor window layout.

Liked:Great location very close to the metro line. It was super convenient to get to all the main attractions in just 20-30 minutes.

Disliked:The room was quite small. The main issue was cleanliness: there was mold in the bathroom right on the wall near the entrance, which could have been easily cleaned, making it feel uncomfortable. The property definitely needs to pay more attention to cleanliness. Also, the window setup was inconvenient: it faces a terrace where people walk.
