Not even close to worth the money

Liked:I'm so surprised this hotel has so many good reviews. I've can't believe these rooms cost me over $300 and $400 a night! As a hotel it is sad, stale and depressing. I went here with my family as a birthday gift to my mom, and I actually ended up apologizing for it. Each room has the barest minimum of amenities and lacks basic comforts. The bathrooms are so small in the suite I could have literally washed my hands while I used the toilet. Allegedly the hotel was recently remodeled, but you really can't tell -- these rooms look ancient, with layers and layers of paint subbing in for what should have been real updates. We chose this hotel over others for a little more space and a bathtub for my son. We did get some space, but the tub/shower in our suite had no drain so the bathtub function was useless. The walls are very thin, so even with the fan and a loud sound machine, I was still woken up at 1:30 am by people slamming their doors. Things I liked: The property around the hotel is very beautiful. The staff has been very nice, except for the man who scolded my small child for touching something in the hotel lobby with a single finger. And the bed was fine. Altogether just very disappointed, this experience was nearly up to par for what it cost. I wish I had either chosen the Lightwell hotel, or there had been room at Horsefeathers. Won't be coming back.

A memorable experience.

Liked:My wife and I have been married for 18 years and our recent stay at the Columbia gorge hotel was one of the most memorable hotel stays we've had. The restaurant was top-notch and my favorite things about the hotel are the connection with nature being that the hotel overlooks the gorge and that the decor and music is all vintage. It's kind of like going back in time which happens to be one of my favorite things to do.
