A good place to stay for Heidelberg

Liked:Conveniently situated between the old town and the railway station. Good breakfast. We were given rooms facing the courtyard which meant it was away from traffic noise.

Disliked:Very slow check-in and the price we had agreed was at first not recognised. However this was politely resolved to our satisfaction. Pillows were a bit hard.

Liked:Perfectly acceptable room for the night. Although it’s not centrally located, it’s a 10 minute walk into the centre.

Disliked:It wasn’t clear where the parking which made it quite stressful and could do with being better explained before you get there (it’s easy when you know when you know where it is!)

Liked:It was good to receive a predictable level of service. Our expectations were not extremely high, but the basic needs of our stay were generally met. Both the reception staff and the waiters were very helpful, polite, and attentive. They responded to our requests in a positive way and tried to make our stay more comfortable. The overall experience was not perfect, but the staff’s attitude made a positive difference. For a short stay, the hotel can be considered acceptable, especially if you are looking for a simple and straightforward accommodation experience rather than a highly comfortable or luxurious one.

Disliked:There were some room features that I did not notice when making the reservation, so I accept that this was partly my oversight: there was no complimentary water or refrigerator in the room. There were also no slippers, which are usually provided in many hotels. The overal cleaning was not very impressive, but as one can expect it from the price/performance evaluation. The breakfast was quite simple and had limited variety. Of course, I understand that this may be a matter of personal preference.

You can easily reach the hotel reception via the elevator. From Heidelberg Hauptbahnhof, cross the Willy-Brandt-Platz and walk along the Kurfursten-Anlage. Keep following the road until you reach our hotel - it's only a 15-minute walk away from the train station.
