Great Location for fair price

Liked:Directly at the Ocean, many eating possibilities close by. The way to the other side of the Island is also very close. Helping with the transfer from Tembowong Harbour to Gili Gede and back again too. Everyone is super nice.

Disliked:When it’s raining heavily, it’s very loud because of the roof, still managable, but woke me up two or three times.

Easy, clean and accessible!

Liked:The sunrise is absolutely incredible from this spot! It was conveniently located and available for a last minute booking when wanting to extend my time on the island. It is in a noisy busy area so if you like to sleep in, bring ear plugs! Unfortunately we did not know when breakfast was and had an early departure so got food down the street and it was placed out for us when we got back - we felt terrible about this.

Disliked:The aircon did not work as advertised :( it was a hot stay

Can’t recommend

Liked:The location is fantastic, right on the beachfront of the beautiful Gili Gede, so you get the sea and sunrise right in front of you. It was overall very clean.

Disliked:We looked forward to this stay but we unfortunately had a few issues that made us check out after the first night. The door doesn’t seal fully, leaving a gap of a few cm all around it - meaning it’s very hard to keep mosquitoes out, so even with a mosquito repellent we had quite a lot of them through the night. We had a repeated incident with quite large cockroaches in the bathroom, probably coming from the shower drain. And finally, there is a glitch with the electricity, which made the light by the bed go on if you plugged in anything in the socket by the bed. So, we could not charge our phones unless we slept with the light on. We also realized the hostel has changed names and Booking profiles, as it is actually called the Mentari Guest House and the previous Booking score was lower. Had we known that, we would have probably not booked it. We had to check out the next morning and book a different accommodation on the island for the same day, which was a significant unplanned cost. We were not offered any kind of refund for the unused nights.
