Liked:not far from the subway, the area is also good, wi-fi is nice, pool downstairs was the best part in this hostel

Disliked:no AC, only very noizy fan, no window, thw room is super small and not good cleaned (dust on the shelves). the locker is not safe - it broke on the second day, so a random guy told us a master-pass for all the rooms -> some people (not stuff) know the code from your room. also no locker, we had to take all the documents and money with us. the dishes in the kitchen was dirty. also there were restauration works there - you must go through the 16-beds room to reach yours (they didn't even mention it on booking). not enough bathrooms.

The volunteer staff made this feel like home

Liked:The staff is who made our stay. Emilio, Syd and CJ were so wonderful to us. Showed us around the neighborhood, recommended attractions, always made sure we were comfortable and had plenty of things to do.

Disliked:The construction was loud, but that's out of their control. There was a large flood that took place a few weeks before we arrived. That being said, I'm excited to come back next year to see the place after all the renovations have been completed!

Liked:Great location close to a subway station. I felt safe there. They provided clear instructions for the self-entry. The private room was a little dated. It was in a subsection with just two other rooms, so the shared bathroom wasn't an issue besides being very small.

Disliked:The interior layout is all scattered about and up a steep staircase.

Wasn’t able to get into the building half the time, no help. Dirty

Liked:The location was good, free street parking if you could find it.

Disliked:This was the worst place I have ever stayed. I’ve stayed in hostels before but this was horrible. The room was dirty, stains on the sheets, holes in the wall, and the bathroom door didn’t shut properly. I was in a private room with a shared bathroom/living room with one other room but the common space didn’t have a locked door so anyone could just come into our bathroom and kitchen. The cleaning lady came into our room telling us to move things and wouldn’t let us use the bathroom. They give you codes to get into the building but they never worked so I was locked out. I had to stand on the street in the pouring rain and call the help desk but no one answered so I wasn’t able to get in until later that day and this happened multiple times. I was having a slight emergency and needed something from my room and couldn’t get it. I paid almost $1,300 for two nights when it typically costs $47 a night bc of lollapalooza and I couldn’t even get into the building half of the time. Staff was rude and the whole thing was a mess. Don’t waste your money even if it is cheap bc you probably won’t be able to get into the building.
