The parking is located at AMC River East 21, located at 322 E. Illinois. Room Revitalization – From December 4th, 2025, through February 20th, 2026, The Hotel will undergo an exciting refresh of all guestrooms and halls, along with converting all double rooms to double queens. All services, dining, and amenities will remain available. Periods of noise may occur during work hours, 8:00 am-5:00 pm, Monday-Friday; work is paused on weekends. No major construction or demolition is taking place. Guests are required to show a photo ID and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply. Swimming pool: Closed from Fri, Jan 30, 2026 until Mon, Mar 30, 2026

Nice hotel, but recent renovation is disappointing and makes hotel less convenient for business travelers

Liked:I've come here a few years running for a conference and always enjoyed it. The hotel is clean, well-kept, in a great location, and has nice spacious rooms and really comfortable beds. Also, the restaurant has a nice setup and serves good food - I particularly like the lobster roll. This year, however, they renovated the rooms, removing, among other things, the desk and swivel chair, and as a business traveler, I really missed having those. I didn't like the round bistro table they replaced the desk with and I didn't like the new lights, which weren't bright enough, or the new painting. Both clashed with the rest of the room. I much preferred the rooms as they looked last year - there's no need to make the lighting "more atmospheric." The renovation clearly included the carpet in the hallways, which was a nice deep pile, but the rooms weren't as nice as they were last year. Also, when I visited, the gym was serviceable, but the pool was closed for renovations. Also, my travel was disrupted due to a winter storm, and when I went to the (fully manned) front desk to book a room for additional nights, I was told I had to book the room online first, and only then could the desk check me in. That seemed pretty silly, to me. Because of that, and because of the lack of a good setup for a business traveler, I actually opted to stay the extra days at another hotel, so that I wouldn't have to work from a round marble-topped bistro table with insufficient horizontal space.
