Cozy B&B in a historic neighborhood

Liked:The house was very clean, cozy and welcoming. It felt very much like staying at a B&B. The rental manager was easy to communicate with via text message and shared all of the instructions I needed to access the property easily. Within walking distance of the Bronzeville metro station and some great restaurants. I had a delicious omelette at Truth on Pershing.

Disliked:They require a security deposit via zelle or venmo, which wasn't immediately clear from the listing, but I did receive instructions after booking. I respect them wanting to protect their property from those who don't treat the B&B like their own home.

Liked:Only the place was good and the service is so bad that we had all the property for ourselves

Disliked:No one to coordinate or contact if we need something, and one guy from staff was even saying they don't care about negative reviews and they will continue to provide worst service. They even charged 300$ deposit which is not returned even after 3 days of vacating. They don't respond on calls, they say they respond faster on text messages but they don't even respond on text messages, my advice to booking.com, please remove this property from your site .

It was a horrible experience and I do NOT recommend this place!!!

Liked:I never got to stay in the room to begin with, because on the way there I was shocked when I received the email asking me to pay a $500 deposit using my debit card (that was specified) in order to unlock the door for me!

Disliked:Having to pay a deposit is something that was not disclosed at the time of the booking! And asking specifically for a debit card was completely inconvenient. What if I didn't have the money for that!!! Plus, the email even sounded like it was a scam, and I was reluctant to continue with payment. Even the Uber driver advised against that. So this whole experience was disappointing and cumbersome, especially because it was 11 o'clock at night and we had no place else to go. I tried to get a refund by disputing the charge but that was denied.

Disliked:They asked for a "security deposit" before they would give directions of how to get into the hotel (actually a house). No actual hotel would ask for a payment through Venmo or Zelle.
