Meh, choose elsewhere.

Liked:Perfectly fine. A bit tired, a bit uninspired decor and amenities in the small room. Elevators loud because each room abuts the shaft. Elevators were not working well when we were there -- only 1 or 2 of the 4-6 elevators were working, including Service elevators. Waits up to 10 minutes, and since we were on floor 20, took forever to get through all the stops. Staff didn't tell us at checkin, we had to find out the next morning thru experience and it made us late. Not nice. Didn't get better in the 3 days we were there. No compensation offered to us -- they did give a single free drink ticket to my family in another room. Bathroom was awkwardly set up (couldn't keep a bathmat down and still open the shower door) and shower leaked into the main room. This is downtown Chicago, there are SO many choices from Hyatt and competitors -- I recommend you choose elsewhere. If this was a budget hotel, I'd be fine with everything but this was $300+ night. Bright spots: housekeeping was excellent and even put a bouquet in a vase for us, nice touch. Breakfast (not free, not hotel owned) at the Mexican place attached was quite good.

Disappointing profile for one of the big brands.

Liked:Location, room size, and cleanliness were good. Good bed pillows and linens.

Disliked:There are no drawers in the room, to store bulkier or folded clothing. A big drawback in a major corporate hotel. Another big shortcoming is the lack of water-bottle recycling. Each room receives two plastic bottles per day. Into the general trash they go. Poor leadership and stewardship on Hyatt’s scorecard!
