Nice midrange hotel with a pool and balconies, but my bed was rock hard

Liked:I stayed with a friend and we loved the location, the adjoining doors, the balconies, the pool and especially the reading nook. I bet the place was spectacular in its prime. Very reasonable for a midrange budget hotel Although my bed mattress was rock hard, my friend's wasn't, so I guess it's luck of the draw 😉

Pleasantly surprised

Liked:Got a twin room booked due to a booking error I made, stayed 1 night, happy with price....but then I started reading the reviews, some of which are quite old so will attempt to respond also to some of the issues raised. The Hotel is situated tin the old city near Huen Phen restaurant, I would describe it is grand but in need of care, it kind of reminded me of The Overlook Hotel in the film The Shining, it is interesting architecturally and the rooms are very big, beds comfy and loads of wardrobe space, the rooms are very gloomy but if you need to sleep the curtains block out all light, the bathroom, shower, toilet etc were clean, the A/C worked and was quiet as does the TV, reception were helpful and area always staffed well. The swimming pool area was lovely, the sunbeds not broken, in fact very comfy, not plastic and with mattresses on them, water clean and refreshing for a dip

Budget Option

Liked:I don't know why I book this hotel for two nights. It only cost 126 yuan, about 18usd, so in general, I'm still very satisfied. There is a swimming pool, air conditioning, and the room is quiet and clean. In the ancient city, there are many restaurants and scenic spots nearby, which is easy to walk around.

Room not clean, including bathroom!

Liked:Agoda promised me a bathtub but I only got a shower. The bathroom and bed were dirty, so was the cushion on the stool! I only booked for 1 night, otherwise I would have left. You can clearly see dead insects everywhere and stains on the sink, towel and stool cushion.
