Customer Service at front desk isn’t helpful and needs training.

Liked:I have stayed at this property in the past and liked the location. It isn’t located downtown so not in the crowds you sometimes find in downtown. Has good parking. Breakfast is good. Room was clean.

Disliked:Upon arrival the front desk staff was not helpful or friendly. There was a problem with my reservation and she told me she couldn’t fix the issue and I needed to resolve it myself. I showed her a copy of my reservation and she said that didn’t matter. I had a hard copy of the reservation and a copy on my phone. I was able to make a call and get the reservation sorted. The WIFI at the hotel does not work well. It constantly went down or kick me off the service. On the third day of my stay I asked the front desk if there was a mailbox or if the desk could send out mail that I had prepared and was already stamped. The front desk staff said she didn’t know if she could send out mail for guests. She said perhaps check with the restaurant staff about mailing my cards- which made no sense. Perhaps the front desk staff isn’t trained or just not interested in helping guests. I found the customer service at the property not good or what I would expect.

Poor simply based on the internet and electronic problems.

Liked:The location was very difficult to find. Even several people coming in with me were as confused as I whether we were in the right place. The few staff I interacted with were very nice . Check and out was fine. The check in person stated she lived in Asheville her whole life and didn’t know Crowne Plaza was there. Very nice room , comfortable, clean, as was the entire place. I worried more that I was making too much noise with the t.v. . Now for the downside. The internet connection was horrible. There were only two ports on the lamps, neither worked. I had to borrow an adapter from a server and plug in at the bar in order to charge one device the first night. I spent valuable time and money going to Best Buy for adapters and cords. If you decide to stay bring a universal charger, adapters , cords and any other device charging needs . As well the T.V. remote had to be held” just right” in order to function. And the channels were poor. Finally, for the price to stay for two nights, breakfast should have been included. It was a nice buffet , but no nicer than other hotels ‘ that include buffets . The Crowne breakfast was not worth $20. The many excellent points the Plaza had didn’t make up for the issues I’ve mentioned. Sadly I won’t stay there again.
