Thank goodness for the Hotels.com guarantee

Liked:I prepaid my booking well in advance of my trip. When I contacted the host on arrival day, he said the property was unavailable and he did not have my booking. He offered another property. It was the coronation week so hotels were mostly sold out. I reluctantly agreed. The alternate property was billed as luxury accommodations in a vibrant neighborhood. In reality, it was a cheaply furnished, poorly renovated dump in a sketchy neighborhood. We arrived after dark and we’re reluctant to get out of the car. The apartment had black mold, ants, dirty carpet, damaged tile in the shower, faucet that was not secured, loose shower glass, broken down sofa, uncomfortable beds, flimsy cheap furnishings (bean bag chair, cheapest clothing rack made) and probably more that I have blocked out. Thank goodness for the Hotels.com guarantee. Unfortunately, being coronation week (i booked before that was announced), there was not much available. I spent a few hours on the phone with them and didn’t get a room until 1 am. So, this problem spoiled the arrival evening and the whole next day, since none of us had a good night’s rest. Plus, we ended up in a less convenient area and had to pay an additional £45 to park. I never did see the property I had paid for, but the condition of the hosts other property suggests it might not be good. I only wish I had called Hotels.com the minute I found out my booked property was unavailable.

A great little find

Liked:This is an amazing property right in the heart of Woking. But! You feel your in the countryside with the canal literally feet away. With restaurants and shops just two minutes away and the mainline station just a five minute walk you can be in the centre of London within 30 minutes. It’s got everything you could ever want throughly recommended Kingfisher Court.

Liked:I stayed at Kingsfisher Court for 4 days whilst visiting my daughter who lives in Woking. The flat is lovely and was very well equipped. Tea and coffee was provided and even fresh milk and a few other very much appreciated goodies were available on arrival. Even though it is a ground floor flat, there was barely any noise from neighbours and the ones I did meet were all very friendly. The apartment was lovely and clean. I was worried about going away due to COVID, hence why I hadn’t stayed in a hotel (didn’t want an air conditioned room with no opening windows) but I needn’t have worried. The place was spotless. What was a bonus was the fact that the living room door gave you access to a small garden which during such hot weather was fantastic. Having dealt with the booking through Pooh, I was impressed with the level of service he gave. From the phone call on arrival to dealing with any issues as and when they came up. His customer service couldn’t be faulted. Thank you for everything Pooh. I hope to do business with you again.
