Cool glamping experience, but weak food and cold nights

Liked:Under Canvas Grand Canyon is a very cool glamping experience in an impressive setting. The tents are well designed and the concept is genuinely fun and different.

Disliked:The food is quite mediocre and served on disposable plates, which takes away a bit from the overall experience. The tent itself was also very cold at night, and it feels like it would make sense to start heating it before guests arrive late, rather than after they’ve already frozen for a couple of hours.

Funky accommodation close to GC

Liked:Unusual hotel close to the GC. Tents were comfortable and fun.

Disliked:Smoke in the tent from the fire made all our clothes smell.

Fun adventure in easy driving distance from the Grand Canyon.

Liked:Our tent was on the edge of the camp so it was private and quiet. It was a good size and comfortable. Top marks to the young, enthusiastic, knowledgeable staff! The food was good quality and we were appreciative of extras like blankets, hiking poles, etc.

Disliked:It was hard to control the water temperature in the shower - it was very erratic, swinging from scalding to cold and back again. The tent does get cold overnight in May, and while the wood stove was efficient, it's not large enough to keep the tent warm all night. However those are minor issues compared to our overall very positive experience.
