So much potential but it’s not kept up at all

Liked:The property itself is lush with greenery and flowering plants. Lots of birds and lizards but it looks like a hurricane hit it with palm fronds everywhere. I’m sure it is impossible to keep up with but I saw no effort to clean the grounds while there. The pool area looked nice and the room feels private. I don’t think anyone else was even in my building. Maybe too secluded. There is a gorgeous kitty that lives on the property and was the best part of my stay. The gal who checked me in was called Lorean and she was very friendly and walked me up to my room when I could not get the door open. They are a little tricky/sticky I like the fireplace and the air conditioner works great. The room was very spacious but rather dark. There’s a mini fridge and a kettle for hot water. The separate shower has a niche for products but the rubber seal was busted and the shower door doesn’t close.

Disliked:Things i found on the floor of my room upon checking in: a paper straw wrapper, a twisty bread tie, two bobbie pins, several black hairs (not my hair color), and a cigarette (?!). This room looked like the sheets and towels were changed but no other cleaning occurred before i checked in. I took a bubble bath and the biggest cockroach i have ever seen skittered past my face and could NOT be caught. I tried for 5 HOURS. I called the guest service line and no answer. I left a message. I messaged through the booking app. I received a response the morning I was checking out ~40 hours later. I understand the climate and environment can make for a buggy situation, but this thing was aggressive.. I was walked in on while showering 45 minutes before check out with the do not disturb sign on the door which just sent me over the edge. There are so many broken tiles on the stairs I am really worried someone will hurt themselves!!! One of the water glasses in the bathroom was used and there was a missing lightbulb over the vanity. Very dirty doors with fingerprints everywhere. Please clean your rooms!!! I would have left but no one was responding and I didn’t have another option. I did not sleep well at this property. I tried posting the video of the massive cockroach but I don’t think it is allowed on the app

Affordable luxury but we missed hanging out at the pool

Liked:Great value in off season (summer months) but way worth it. Lodge On the Desert is my first choice stay in Tucson. It is iconic Pueblo style architecture with the vigas, rounded archways,and Sonoran style landscaping. Beds are quite comfortable and quality. TV service is ok with 2 HBO channels. Nice thick towels great hygiene and toiletries provided. The grounds and buildings are well maintained. Very inviting and pleasant place to lounge at will.

Disliked:This visit pool and jacuzzi were closed, so very disappointing. But we’ll give it another try
