Walking distance to everything.

Liked:A great place for a short visit. We were only there the one night for a show. The people were all friendly and helpful, breakfast was pretty good and offered good options. The room was clean but certainly showed its age with some sagging cracks in the ceiling. The lack of AC in the middle of August was an issue, and if I'd seen that when booking I probably would have looked elsewhere. They did have a large fan in the room and it made it tolerable with the windows open, although that removes any chance at privacy with open windows and curtains! At night it cooled right off to keep us quite cozy so at least we were able to sleep. Great location close to everything.

Return Visit

Liked:This is our second visit to The Townhouse and again it was perfect, the room was very comfortable, the staff were welcoming and attentive. The food was delicious, recommend the Small Plates, all perfectly cooked. The Bar & Restaurant areas are very relaxed, some nights there is live music in the bar, excellent the time we were there. The location is great for easy access to the river and town centre. Highly recommend..

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Wonderful Stay at The Townhouse

Liked:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Wonderful Stay at The Townhouse We had such a wonderful stay at The Townhouse and would highly recommend it. Jennifer, the manager, was absolutely fantastic. She was there from early in the morning through late at night, always smiling, welcoming, and making sure every guest was looked after. Her hard work and dedication really stood out. We stayed in Room 1, and it was perfect. It was one of the hottest weekends of the year, yet our room stayed lovely and cool, making it incredibly comfortable. The live music on Saturday evening created such a great atmosphere, and it was the perfect place to watch England beat Denmark. As a lovely surprise, Jennifer even brought all of the hotel guests free pizza during the match, which was such a thoughtful gesture and made the evening even more enjoyable. Breakfast the following morning was excellent—fresh, delicious, and a great way to start the day. Every member of staff we met was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely seemed to enjoy what they do. Thank you, Jennifer and the whole team, for making our stay so memorable. We will definitely be back!

Do not stay here

Liked:This is the third time we have stayed at Stratford Town House and i cant argue the rooms are beautiful and clean. However I would not stay here again on principle after seeing how they deal with customers. We were sat in the bar and s friendly group of young lads came in. They sat down and had a drink and yes were loud but troublemakers absolutely not....yet an old guy drinking in the bar decided he was ten men and tried to make trouble with them. This older guy came into where they were sat and asked what they had been doing in the toilet. A lad jokingly said he had had a 'tommy tit' ( one cubicle only ) and asked the old guy what it had to do with him. Bearing in mind this old guy was stood there thinking he was ten men stareing at them all them. He then went and called this young lad a fat person ....and asked him outside as he wanted to deal with him....... the situation eventually calmed down (witout staff intervention) and a lady sat on the next table to us went and told the bar staff the old guy was the one in the wrong. I also went to the bar and told the staff the lads had done nothing wrong and in fact the old guy was massively in the wrong and he was the one needing to be removed. Yet unfortunately the bar staff albeit being told the truth decided to throw the young lads out. When leaving the lads turned to me and the couple next to us who had witnessed it all and apologised even though they had nothing to apologise for. I am totally disappointed in the staffs attitude and the fact besides being told who was the issue, they decided to remove the wrong people from the situation. On that basis, we usually use the Townhouse as our base for visits to Stratford, but going forward I will pay extra and stay at accommodation that listens to customers and acts appropriately.
