Overpriced and Poorly Maintained

Liked:We've been coming here for years, and it's disappointing to see how much this property has declined while prices continue to increase. The new towel policy is one of the biggest frustrations. You're limited to the number of towels based on the number of people in your room, yet towels are rarely available first thing in the morning. When they finally arrive around 10:30 or 11:00 a.m., they're immediately gone because everyone is dealing with the same shortage. Spending part of your vacation hunting down pool towels is unacceptable. The cleanliness throughout the property was also extremely poor. The pool bathrooms looked like they hadn't been cleaned in months, the paths from the pool to the beach were overgrown with tall, itchy beach grass, the chairs in our room were covered in mold, and the linens and blankets smelled musty. If you're staying in one of the bunk bed rooms, don't expect the beds to even be made. Our room was advertised as having a queen bed, but it was clearly a full-size mattress. There was also no housekeeping offered during our stay, despite the high nightly rates. The check-in process has become unnecessarily inconvenient. Even if you're staying at the Riviera, you have to check in at Blue Water, which feels inefficient and lazy for guests. On top of that, the hotel now charges for parking daily, something that was previously included. Another frustrating change is the room readiness process. The hotel used to text guests as soon as their room was available. Now, everyone waits until the automated 4:00 p.m. text, creating long lines and unnecessary delays at check-in. Perhaps the biggest disappointment was the customer service. Multiple staff members were rude and unhelpful, making it feel like guests were an inconvenience rather than valued customers. Overall, this hotel continues to cut amenities while raising prices. Between the parking fees, lack of housekeeping, poor maintenance, towel shortages, and declining service, it feels like guests are being nickel-and-dimed at every turn. It's hard to understand where the money is being invested because it certainly isn't going toward maintenance, cleanliness, guest services, or improving the overall experience. After hearing employees mention they hadn't even been paid in weeks, it's clear there are larger issues behind the scenes. Sadly, what was once a place we looked forward to visiting has become an overpriced hotel that no longer delivers the experience its rates suggest.
