A deflating experience!

Liked:The property’s interior as a whole is aesthetic and well maintained, externally not so much- the terrace for dinner was beautiful, but even that itself looked a little tired. The room was clean, with decent amenities.

Disliked:The service and overall hospitality were a huge disappointment. At a 5 star you’d expect everything all the way through to be proactive at a high level, this hotel was WAY off. From the very start upon check in, there were refreshments and smaller snacks to the left as you entered the lobby area, which we were just pretty much left to figure out for ourselves. Zero promptness or explanation from anyone regarding what was available, which bars/restaurants were open, which facilities could be used/booked and at which times- incentive just doesn’t exist in this property. There was also absolutely no one to be seen throughout our stay, even asking for something as simple as a drink was a chore- an example being having to come down from the 4th floor EVERY single time and physically ask the concierge for a water, beer or wine etc, which is uncomfortable in itself, and then to the audacity to be charged a €5.00 service fee for what exactly????? I can completely understand that the weather was hot, but we’ve stayed in several other hotter counties and 5* resorts that genuinely couldn’t do enough for you. Logic also tells you that if a guest has had to go through the pain of finding a member of staff to ask for a bottle of water once, it doesn’t happen again. Once you’ve arrived with something like a drink, it would make sense to check back in on the guests to potentially provide another or simply clear empty glasses? We also made a reservation for dinner in their main restaurant which is located downstairs. The restaurant was absolutely open and the main kitchen itself is there too. When we arrived for the reservation the concierge looked shocked, had to make a phone call which lasted a couple of minutes, to then state that they don’t actually think the restaurant was open for dinner that particular night and we’d have to be seated upstairs on the terrace. The terrace offers fantastic views but again, extremely poor from a hotel with a 5* attached to it.

Liked:An absolutely fabulous hotel, the staff are amazing & can’t do enough for you! The whole hotel is immaculate, our room was great breakfast is amazing! You are ideally situated to get to all the sites by foot. 10 out of 10… well done to all the team, you were all amazing. Thank you!

Great stay, would definitely stay again, if possible.

Liked:Central location. I could walk everywhere easily. Staff was amazing. They were able to get me transportation when needed and even help me navigate a tricky situation I had!

Disliked:I requested 2 beds through booking.com and they said they didn't receive the request. Not sure where it got lost.
