A great stay, but some things disappointing

Liked:The room was excellent, very comfortable. Breakfasts were excellent for 2 days - see below for other comments.

Disliked:The packed to go breakfast was very very poor which stale cakes and sandwich. The fruit and orange juice were ok. Up in the bar a shared pizza was pure stodge and very oily. The beer was served in a chipped glass, replaced with only half a glass, eventually got a full glass. The breakfast, served on the Sunday was not up to the previous standard(? weekend chef). Brought to the dining room staff's attention but nothing done.

Liked:The Hotel location, facilities and rooms are amazing couldn't have picked a better hotel for our stay.

Disliked:Roof terrace bar staff were amazing apart from one bar staff member who we felt let us down. It was supposed to be table service but we had to get our own drinks at the bar. The same staff member also charged us every order we made while other customers got there bill at the end of there night. The rest of the terrace bar staff provided outstanding service and treated us equally to all the other customers and made the stay warm and welcome.

A great hotel in a great location but let down by facilities.

Liked:The rooms and the views were fantastic, and the staff were generally great and really helpful.

Disliked:The facilities were very poor. The gym had barely any equipment and a lot of what it did have was broken. When I mentioned the gym wasn’t great while checking out the receptionist just gave me a sympathetic smile and said “no, it isn’t.” Also, the spa facilities were pretty underwhelming for a five star hotel (and which you have to pay extra for). The sauna wasn’t very hot, the hydro jets were so weak is was the same as having a shower, and the jacuzzi chairs were a weird shape that mean you keep slipping out of them.
