Ok, but not worth the money!

Liked:The grounds were beautiful and the location relative to why we were there was perfect.
Disliked:VERY loud with lots of kids, and VERY thin walls. This is not what you’d expect from a high end property. The room was ok…the bathroom light switches were outside the bathroom, and the bathroom door was glass (odd because if you get up at night to use the bathroom, it lights up the entire room). The pillows were terrible! The bar four was good but the breakfast was bad. Stop serving the bland potato’s with breakfast!

Inflexible Unethical Upselling Front Desk

Liked:I was reminded why I am a Marriott Bonvoy loyalist when I attempted to check in a few hours early at this property at which I was participating in a conference that started at the same time as hotel check-in — 4pm. I called that morning and asked about the potential for early check-in so that I could get cleaned up before the start of the conference and was referred by a rude, unhelpful woman, whose name I didn’t get, to a the terribly clunky World of Hyatt app that I “should download to get in the queue.” I was never able to figure out how to connect my online reservation to the app and decided I would just show up and talk to a human about my desire for early check-instead, as I had successfully done at Bonvoy properties over the years. I talked to Matt at the check-in desk and he told me he could not give me early check-in, unless I was willing to upgrade to a room with an outdoor patio and fire pit. Having worked out earlier in the day, I really needed to get cleaned up and changed before the start of my conference and so I agreed to his $60/night upsell, but am not happy about it because it’s going to be a hassle to unwind from my company’s expense report process. When I checked out, I explained to another front desk agent, Carol, that I was displeased with my experience and she literally just stared at me and said nothing other than “uh huh.” No “I’m sorry,” no “I’ll let my manager know,” no “let me see what I can do,”…. nothing. This property — and maybe all Hyatts, I don’t know — could clearly care less about the guest and is only interested in driving higher margins and doing what is only convenient for the resort. By the way, the place is like lipstick on a pig. It’s an old modest hotel that they’ve dressed up with paint and perfume so to overcharge its guests. The walls were paper thin and the room was average at best.

Front desk power Trip.

Liked:The front desk is rude and unprofessional. There is no shuttle service as they promise on the website. Almost impossible for me to find a spot by the pool for more than 2 people. All staff other than front desk was excellent, which why I gave 2* instead of 1*, Better luxury options in Scottsdale for your money. Look elsewhere!
