Aggressive, threatening, scamming staff

Liked:The place was clean, placed in the middle of the town, and it was possible to park right in front.

Disliked:The staff was rude and aggressive and tried to scam us. The check in experience was bad: it was listed as between 16:00 and 20:00 but we could not arrive within the interval, so I called to ask if it's possible to do the check in later; I was told that as long as it is before midnight it's ok, that they will leave the key somewhere and let me know where to collect it. When I let them know I will arrive around 22 (as per google maps estimates) they said they would give me the keys in person. The traffic was worse than estimated and we were a bit late, at 22:10 the person called and started shouting that I was late. When we arrived, he demanded to take a photo of ID, even though this is not required in Portugal and it was not mentioned in any check in information from Booking. After we checked out, the person called and started shouting again, aggressively asking where the towels were and suggesting that we had stolen them. I told him that all the towels were in the rooms or bathrooms, and I thought that was it. However hours later he sent aggressive text messages, threatening to go to the police with my ID if I don't transfer 50€ for the towels (for reference, the rate for one double for the night was 60€) directly to his account (so not via Booking). As far as the facilities were concerned, our rooms (we had 2 double rooms) had no windows facing outside, only towards a hall giving into an inner courtyard, hence almost zero natural light and impossible to ventilate. Both rooms had an unpleasant humid/mouldy smell, one of them relatively weak, the other almost unbearable, and there was a large humidity stain visible right by the bed.
