Pretty view, bad experience.

Liked:The view from the lobby was amazing, but that’s about it. The AC in the hotel room and conference rooms kept going out. I’m pretty sure they only turn their water heaters on between 6 AM and 9 AM to save money. Any other time it was a cold shower. The bed was comfortable but the room was so hot at night. Would not stay here again.

Overpriced for what you get.

Liked:Stayed in the 1300 block of the villas. Our reservations upon arrival were incorrect, they had us at two nights and we had to show them our reservation only for one. Staff was helpful to correct it. The room is dated and dingy - just not very clean. The walls are extremely paper thin to the point you can hear everything the neighbors are saying. Getting breakfast is pretty inconvenient the way the place is set up and staying in the villas is pretty inconvenient if you enjoy accessing onsite amenities. It is walkable… but not very enjoyable in humidity. I’ve stayed at super 8s that have felt more cleanly than here.

Could be so nice

Liked:This was a quick 2-night stay, but my wife and daughter were there for a convention and stayed for over a week. They were “upgraded” to a Villa on arrival, about a 10-min walk from the covention center. The Villa was great in terms of space. Kitchenette, huge bathroom, but man was it dated. I was expecting so much more. Old warped paint, roaches, and a shower down that wouldn’t close (see pic). If someone actually tried to close it with force it would likely shatter. My son and I took the pullout sofa sleeper and it looked like it was 30 years old. Horrible mattress and so squeaky. Just a let down overall. The rest of the hotel was nice. Pool and grounds are beautiful. And the beach club is excellent. Could be so much more. We had dinner on site the first night and it was ok, nothing to note.

I want to love this hotel but I can't

Liked:I stayed here several times, always hoping that my last experience was just a bad one. Lets start with the $25 resort fee that basically covers nothing, but since they attached a "resort" sticker to the door then that allows them to charge a "resort" fee. Then the $25 self parking way out in a deserted parking lot, not even under cover to protect from the extreme sun and rain. The "Elite" check-in line has cobwebs because there is nobody ever there. When you finally do check in, because the front desk is perennially understaffed, there is no elite member recognition, you have to remind the staff that you get a elite member benefit. The front desk definitively needs help. This is really a shame because the grounds are beautiful and with minimal additional effort this should be a flagship resort. Yes its old but they did a a minor upgrade in the last few years to make it look better. And the (underused) amenities are fantastic. The only bright spots are the breakfast restaurant staff who have been there for years and even though also very understaffed do their best to provide good servies (but not so the food, which is only a step above a free breakfast you would get at a marriott springfield, fairifield or residence inn, suits - but is $30 a person). The pool staff is also very friendly. This time the tub in our room did not drain and its not the healthiest thing to have dirty standing water in the tub. I hope the new owners read some of reviews and make an effort to bring this property back to its glory and make it a compelling place to go
