Liked:Amazing boutique hotel, we had an interior courtyard which was perfect
High-quality facilities, good kitchen
Disliked:We had a leak from the air conditioner. When we got to the reception to explain the situation, the representative simply suggested that we put towels on as the best solution he could offer. We had no choice, but the noise of the drops was crazy, so I had to wear earplugs. Luckily I had them.
Smoking is only allowed in a certain area and not in
the rest of the hotel, including the private courtyard. Our room was close to the area so it wasn't critical, there are rooms further away.

Lovely Property and Amazing Staff, but Not Quite Seamless
Liked:I stayed at L’Horizon Resort & Spa for one night on May 16, 2026 from Saturday morning to Sunday afternoon. There were several things I really appreciated about the property: the room was beautiful and spacious, the massage was excellent, breakfast was great, and the setting had a quiet Palm Springs resort feel.
The biggest positive, though, was the staff. Every person we interacted with was warm, helpful, and clearly doing their best. They were genuinely wonderful. The issues we experienced did not feel like a lack of effort from the team; they felt like the result of the hotel being noticeably short-staffed and not giving the staff enough support to deliver the level of service the property is clearly aiming for.
Room
The room itself was beautiful, spacious, and very clean. It opened out toward hedges near the pool, which gave it a nice indoor-outdoor Palm Springs feeling.
The room also had a tablet meant to provide information about the hotel, menus, and services, but because the Wi-Fi was not working reliably, the tablet was basically useless for our entire stay. That became more frustrating than it might sound, because we had to keep walking to reception to ask for printed dinner and breakfast menus.
Spa
The spa was one of the best parts of the visit. My massage was incredible. The massage rooms appeared to be temporary, but they still had everything needed for a relaxing treatment.
Most importantly, the masseur was excellent and very communicative about pressure and comfort throughout the massage. That part of the experience felt thoughtful, professional, and high-quality.
Service and Staff
The staff was the real highlight of the stay. Everyone we spoke with was kind, attentive, and beyond helpful within the limits of what they could control. They were clearly trying hard to make things work, even when the hotel itself seemed understaffed.
That distinction is important: the service issues did not come from the staff being careless or unfriendly. Quite the opposite. The staff were wonderful. The problem was that there did not seem to be enough people working to keep up with the number of guests, especially around the pool and with room service.
Pool Area
The main pool area was very busy, and because used towels were not being cleared, it was difficult to tell which seats were actually available and which were being held by guests who had left.
The pool itself also felt too small for the number of people using it. There is another newer “pool” area on the newer side of the hotel, but it is not really a full pool. The water only came up around knee level, so it is more of a place to sit and soak up the sun than to actually swim.
Room Service
Room service was disappointing. Because the tablet was not usable without Wi-Fi, ordering required extra trips to reception.
Dinner was okay, but because of the delay, it was dropped off cold. Utensils were forgotten, and there was no table setup for eating in the room. I realize not every hotel serves room service on a wheeled dining table, but at a higher-end property, I did expect the basics to be smoother. Having to go back to reception for help with simple things took away from the feeling of being able to relax.
Again, the staff we spoke with were helpful and kind. This felt more like an operational issue than a people issue.
Wi-Fi
The Wi-Fi was the biggest problem. It was awful and very unreliable. At times we would get around 10 mb/second, and then suddenly it would drop or disappear completely.
We were trying to have a day off, but one small work request that normally would have taken about 10 minutes ended up taking hours because the Wi-Fi was so spotty. We eventually had to rely on our phones, but even Verizon service was inconsistent.
We had actually been considering this hotel as a possible place to stay for a week while working remotely, but based on this experience, I would not do that unless the Wi-Fi is fixed. In this day and age, dependable internet is not a luxury feature; it is a basic expectation, even when you are trying to disconnect. We asked about it several times, and while the staff were sympathetic, management said there was nothing they could do. For a property at this level, that was disappointing.
Breakfast
Breakfast was great. We were lucky to be there early, because there are only a limited number of tables near the pool and under the canopy in front of it.
Like other parts of the property, the space is beautiful but limited, so timing matters.
Cleanliness
The room was very clean, and the property itself has a beautiful, well-designed look. The main cleanliness issue we noticed was around the pool, where used towels were not being cleared quickly enough. That made the area feel more chaotic and also made it hard to know which chairs were actually free.
Location and Atmosphere
The property has a quiet, stylish Palm Springs atmosphere, and the room’s access toward the hedges and pool gave it a nice resort feeling. The overall setting is beautiful and relaxing, which is why the service and operational issues stood out even more.
Value
For a hotel at this level, the value depends heavily on whether the basics are working well. The room, spa, breakfast, and especially the staff were all strong, but the unreliable Wi-Fi, cold room service, pool crowding, and staffing issues made the stay feel less polished than expected.
For a short leisure stay where you do not need to work or rely on internet access, it may still feel worthwhile. For a longer stay or a work-from-hotel trip, I would be cautious.
Overall Experience
Overall, this was a mixed stay. The property is beautiful, the room was clean and spacious, the spa treatment was excellent, and the staff were genuinely wonderful. I want to emphasize that the people working there were not the problem; they were the best part of the experience.
The issues were operational: the hotel felt short-staffed, the pool area was hard to enjoy when busy, room service had multiple problems, and the Wi-Fi was unreliable enough to significantly affect the stay.
I would consider staying again because there is a lot to like here, especially the staff and the overall atmosphere, but only after confirming that the Wi-Fi has been fixed. I would recommend L’Horizon more for couples or leisure travelers looking for a short, relaxing Palm Springs escape who do not need to work or rely heavily on internet access. For anyone planning a longer stay, a work-from-hotel trip, or expecting seamless luxury-level service, I would be cautious until the staffing and connectivity issues are addressed.
