Great stay at a historic spot

Liked:Beautiful grounds with historic charm, friendly and helpful staff, great pool, easy access to Melvyn’s…this is a gem!

Disliked:Gravel pathways made it challenging to maneuver for the person in our party with a walker…also the entrance to the shallow end of the pool was extremely narrow.

Liked:Elegant, historic but not dated, quiet & unfussy vibe, friendly and helpful staff, comfortable and spacious room, private terrace with gorgeous Mountain View.

Disliked:There was no signage in the front/main driveway to identify Reception (only in the rear parking area) so we (and we weren’t the only ones) made a loop or two of the property before guessing correctly that the first set of doors was indeed for the hotel (as Melvyn’s restaurant is attached to the main hotel building that was not obvious). Check-in itself was easy and staff were friendly and eager to assist.
