Lovely hotel in the Oxford area

Liked:We enjoyed our one night stay near Oxford in this beautifully restored property. It is much bigger than we expected but our room was very quiet and comfortable, with a lovely big bed and the air conditioning was extremely welcome :) We had dinner Napier’s restaurant which we very much enjoyed.

Disliked:Nothing really.

Other hotels in the area do it better for less.

Liked:Historic building in a great location.

Disliked:Extremely overpriced for what it is. In total, we paid £334 for an experience that was substandard, especially where the room quality was concerned. The bathroom was extremely dated with no working overhead shower. The fact that you also have to pay £10 for the privilege of parking there also felt like a necessary cost. In the run up to our booking I found the communication from the hotel, whether it be via WhatsApp, email or through the booking.com portal to be confusing and inconsistent, which caused some necessary angst about what was and wasn’t arranged ahead of our stay too. There are others who do it better for less, so we won’t be returning!
