Great property but age is showing.

Liked:We started coming here right when the two sister resorts opened and quickly made it our go-to stay cation destination. The check in staff still has a high-touch, make you feel important vibe. This is greatly appreciated and something we look forward to. The rooms are well appointed and the beds are very comfortable. The space is well-designed still and I was happy to see that the lobby sofa had been replaced. The old one was gorgeous but a shared area sofa can only be clean for so long.
Disliked:The property has aged in the past few years and it feels a bit less lux. We checked into our poolside room this last visit and the room was borderline disgusting. I am not sure if we were given that room and if it's a room they give anyone with a dog, but it was not okay. Our small dog is pristine as far as dogs go so it was not acceptable at an almost $500/night rate. I reached out and the manger moved us to a room that was more in line with what we expect. The pool service and pool restaurant is closed during Spring despite the pool being quite busy. The pool has started feeling more like a 2-3 star property unfortunately. While I love the Resort Pass concept, I feel it's oversold at the SB. Back in the early days, we really loved the high-touch pool service and the feeling of a high end experience. The staff was always really polished and made us feel special - Shout out to BiBi (now a nurse!)! I know profits are always a priority, but I just wish it didn't feel like the profit priority is at the expense of loyal guests. I think the Seabird should consider offering more guest events on site. A real kids club would be cool. The game room is an effort, but it's pretty sad and tucked away in a windowless room.

Fine but expected better from a Hyatt property

Liked:The hotel is beautiful and nicely decorated. The family cityscape room was an acceptable size for a family of four/five. The pool area and kids' craft time were fun and thoughtful touches.
Disliked:King bed was very uncomfortable. The sofa bed was even worse. The bathroom sink/faucet got water all over the vanity, and it seeped onto the floor too. Total mess. Poor construction. The fridge was not large enough nor cold enough. More like a wine cooler than a fridge. The Metrolink running basically right behind this hotel was a bit loud/bothersome.

Great Hotel...But Skip the Food

Liked:Love the vibe, the cleanliness, the friendliness of the staff, and the ocean front location
Disliked:The food from the hotel's Piper Restaurant was AWFUL!!! Bland, tastless.... not chef-quality, as they claim. More "heat-and-serve" level.
