Formal Complaint Regarding Unsanitary Room Conditions and Request for Compensation

Liked:My wife and I were very frustrated and disappointed by our experience. Discovering stool stains on the washcloth and bath towels, along with mold and mildew in the shower, was unacceptable and significantly impacted our stay. As a goodwill gesture, we emailed the hotel GM to consider providing us with a certificate for a complimentary one-night stay at a Marriott property? We have enjoyed staying at Marriott hotels in the past, and we believe this would go a long way toward rebuilding our confidence in the Marriott brand. The lack of response by either email (which I emailed the GM with pictures) or phone call makes the situation even more frustrating.

Nice hotel, just a couple of issues

Liked:The hotel was--as expected, very nice (it's a Marriott), with one exception: there was no cold water in our room! The water from both taps and the tub ranged from really hot to uncomfortably warm to warm if you let it run several minutes. And when you turned on the right tap, the left handle leaked. Somewhere behind the wall, somebody messed up. We mentioned it several times to the front desk, but it's probably going to require a behind-the-wall fix. And last weekend, the hotel was very busy. One design flaw: there's no easy way to get from the garage to the lobby. You either wend your way through (largely unmarked) halls and a meeting space, or have to walk around the side of the building to get to the front. The best part of our stay was breakfast. Both mornings, we were served by the vivacious Vivian. She took excellent care of us, supported by Henry and Jaheme. The breakfasts were big enough that my husband and I should have shared, but ... we didn't. So, overall a good, nicely appointed hotel, good food (there was also a catered luncheon), with a couple of minor flaws. If you stay in 719, I'd love to know if you have cold water.

Terrible customer service and filthy rooms

Liked:The worst experience ever! Don’t expect an apology or any form of acknowledgment when staying at this hotel. Rooms 634 and 734 are completely disgusting. Water is leaking through the walls. There’s mold in the bathroom along with broken tile. Concerns were raised to management back in June. As of July 6th Room 634 is still out of service. Hotel management refuses to call and apologize for the stay. The front office manager told me that they have been very busy. They weren’t too busy to take the room out of service but too busy to show Accountability. The floor was soaking wet along with all belongings during the stay. This information was given to the hotel back in June during the initial stay. No phone call or follow up from Newport News, Marriott, or corporate regarding this matter. Over $1000 was spent for this stay. No Corrective action to make this right with your customer has been made. Do better! When traveling for Work, no one wants to stay in a filthy disgusting room! Taking accountability and calling your customer would be the first step!!
