Disliked:We chose Hotel Scherman based on its excellent 9.2 rating, but unfortunately our experience didn’t quite live up to those expectations. The biggest surprise was the size of the hotel. There is essentially no proper lobby—just a small passage with a reception desk tucked into one corner—which made the arrival feel rather underwhelming. There was also no one available to assist with our luggage. The room was one of the smallest we’ve ever stayed in. It was so compact that we couldn’t even fully open a single suitcase, which made our stay quite inconvenient. The breakfast was definitely a positive, with a good variety of options, and we appreciated that aspect of our stay. However, whenever we approached the front desk for recommendations or assistance, we found the guidance to be fairly limited. Overall, while the hotel may work for travelers who only need a place to sleep, we felt it was far too small to justify such a high rating. Based on our experience, we expected a much better overall stay.

Excellent choice for a hotel!! Will definitely return!

Liked:It’s located close to theatres, Times Square, and great restaurants. The staff were incredibly friendly. The room was much bigger than I expected for a hotel in NYC and very comfortable. The continental breakfast was mostly pastries but the food was good. The shower was also the best I’ve experienced in a hotel. We’ll definitely return there next time we visit New York.

Disliked:I would have liked a bit more protein options with breakfast. They only had hard boiled eggs, which weren’t peeled. I skipped them because I didn’t want to mess with the shells. That was a very minor thing tho and in no way detracted from my enjoyment of the stay.
