Wonderful home and stay

Liked:Amazing quirky design, lovely feel, felt like a home rather than apartment. Hosts are wonderful and kind. Really nice features like the homemade games. I strongly recommend getting the traditional breakfast.

Disliked:It was quite hot and light in the bedrooms, but couldn’t open the windows due to midges

Excellent choice for a stay near the lake.

Liked:Location, quiet, beds were super comfy, amenities were great. Loved the chair in the bathroom for a place to put things and reach the window for venting.

Disliked:I wish there was a sitting area inside that you could see out the windows, it’s such a beautiful place so I moved the desk chair to the kitchen door to drink my morning coffee, as it was too cold to be outside. I also wish there was freezer onsite, most travelers are driving around the island and utilizing coolers to keep food and drinks cold. I have found most places to have at least a small freezer built into the fridge or access to one.

Luxury View, Spiritual Bootcamp Included

Liked:The house and its location are truly stunning—honestly impressive. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same about the hosts and the overall concept.

Disliked:We respected the rules and made a real effort to follow them, but that effort turned the stay into a stressful exercise rather than a relaxing holiday. It honestly felt like we spent two days trying to adapt to the house instead of enjoying Iceland. Right after arrival, we took out our drone to capture the incredible view. The host immediately came out to warn us. We apologized, stopped right away, and explained politely that we hadn’t noticed the rule—but still had to listen to a lengthy lecture. An unusual kind of welcome, not particularly heartwarming. We then realized that before “enjoying” the house, we were expected to spend a significant amount of time reading notes and absorbing a rather intense “life philosophy.” It felt less like accommodation and more like an ideological onboarding. At some point, while trying to figure out how to align ourselves with these elevated principles, our actual holiday seemed to quietly slip away. Thankfully, the kitchen stools are fixed to the floor—so at least we didn’t lose our balance in the process. Basic things like sitting together comfortably, eating, or casually going through photos weren’t really possible. What mattered most, apparently, was absolute silence for the hosts upstairs—and we managed to deliver that. We also had a strange experience with the dishwasher: we had to start it around 21:30, it stopped exactly at 22:00, and in the morning it had somehow resumed on its own. This gave the uncomfortable impression that the hosts might intervene in the apartment. Combined with the lack of real physical separation, it raises questions about personal boundaries. In summary: the house, location, and view are exceptional. But this is not just accommodation—it’s a very specific, unrequested “experience” built around the hosts’ philosophy. We realized that a bit too late.
