Unprofessional and disappointing

Liked:The Holiday Inn Express Myrtle Beach was very disappointing as an IHG Platinum Elite Member. Upon arrival, the person at the desk who checked me in gave no greeting at all and just gruffly asked for my name. He did not acknowledge my IHG status nor did he display any hospitality or friendliness whatsoever. After giving us our room... About 5 minutes later as my wife was in the bathroom and daughter near the door, another guest unlocked our door and walked in. Apparently they gave them our room and keys also. I then checked my keys and they no longer worked on our door. It took 3 trips back and forth to the desk to get working keys... Without any apology. The room itself was not well kept. The air-conditioning was leaking water all over the floor and I had to keep a towel on the ground in front of it. As well, during the night someone was either smoking in their room near us or outside by our air-conditioning as the room smelled like cigarettes while we were trying to sleep. Very disappointing. The breakfast was really the only positive. Good standard IHG options and the breakfast attendant was friendly. We would not stay here again. This was one of the most disappointing IHG hotel experiences I have ever had from start to finish.
