Perfect Downtown Location, but Dated Property with Few Amenities

Liked:Pros: The location of this hotel is fantastic. It sits right downtown within easy walking distance to a variety of great shops and restaurants. We got lucky during our stay and got to enjoy a local street fair right nearby, which was wonderful bonus. Cons: The hotel itself feels quite dated and stripped of meaningful amenities. Aside from the excellent location, the property felt very bare and uninspired for a Marriott brand. Overall: Come here for the walkability and convenience, but do not expect much from the actual hotel features.

Great hotel in a great location...

Liked:We have stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott Milwaukee Downtown twice this year. The first time, we were in town for a wedding, we booked two rooms; one for my husband and I and one for our adult kids. The second time was a girls weekend for me and my two daughters. Check in is always a breeze. Super friendly staff, the rooms are nice and clean. The lobby is very big and has lots of comfortable seating. There is a Starbucks in the lobby and the hotel is connected to the Third Street Marketplace... however, it was closed during our visit in June (my daughter lives in Milwaukee and took us out for sushi). We have stayed here several times since my daughter moved to Milwaukee many years ago, I am sure we will be back.

Liked:I liked the downtown location

Disliked:I was travelling by motorcycle and had to pay $22 for use of a parking garage adjacent to the hotel. Hotel evidently has no free parking. Next time I won't assume a hotel has parking. The sofa bed was really uncomfortable, soft and sagging, not good for anyone besides a kid maybe.
