Smelled like mold - couldn't stay.

Disliked:We arrived late due to an event we attended. When we got there, we were placed in a room on the 3rd floor despite not having an elevator working and I was solo with 3 kids. When we got into the room, the room smelled awful like mold. I have 2 of my kids with bad allergies/asthma, so we simply couldn't stay. They luckily provided me a refund, but unluckily, they had no other rooms, and we ended up traveling 25 minutes away to find a hotel. It was incredibly disappointing as the reviews online were good, but this was just an awful experience.

Tired and frustrating experience

Liked:This hotel is terrible. I would give it a zero if I could. Our family went down to visit family on July 11, 2026. We reserved 2 rooms at this hotel under my daughter's name. She is a diamond elite member. We reserved a king standard and a 2 queen bed standard room. We stopped by before going to my family's and they allowed us to check into the king room early, but said that the 2 queen room was not clean yet, so we'd have to check into that room later. We got back to the hotel right around midnight and the lady at the front desk was helping another customer. She was very slow and not very helpful. When it was our turn, we explained that we already checked into our King room and needed to check into our queen. She asked, you have a 2 queen bed room? We said yes, correct. She gave us our room keys. We get up to the room and it is just a 1 bed queen with a couch. We go back downstairs (the elevator was out of order also) and there are 2 other customers down at the counter with the same problem. They reserved a room with 2 queen beds and they only have 1 bed and a couch. She told each of them and us that they were full and there was nothing she could do. She was sorry. You could tell by her facial expression and voice that she was not sorry. We called customer service and after the first lady hung up on us, the second lady did help us find another hotel and gave my daughter some extra points for her inconvenience. Before we left, we told the lady at the front desk that we expected a full refund on both rooms since they overbooked and gave our room away. Now, IHG will not allow us to write a review on their site and says they have no record of our stay. This is the second time that this has happened to us in Marysville OH, that they gave our room away. The first time we thought maybe it was an accident. Now, we know this is their business practice, to overbook. Do NOT stay here, especially if you need more than one bed, or you may not have enough beds to sleep everyone. And they will tell you that they upgraded your room. We told her that this is not an upgrade. We needed 2 queen beds and that is why we reserved 2 beds. She just gave us a rude look.
