Our perfect London escape

Liked:The apartment exceeded all my expectations! The location was perfect, close to shops, pubs, restaurants, and the Underground, making it easy to explore all parts of London. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back!

Very disappointing stay We booked this hotel for 4 nights but were first sent to a different hotel

Disliked:Very disappointing experience – not the hotel we booked We stayed in London with our family for a week of tourism and booked this hotel for four nights. First, we received a message telling us that we had been upgraded to another hotel, which was actually the reception for several hotels. This was very inconvenient as we were travelling by public transport and walking with our luggage. When we arrived at around 2pm, our room was understandably not ready, so we were told we could leave our luggage in a room. However, the room was unlocked, there were no luggage tags and there appeared to be no control over who could access it. When we returned about three hours later, the person at reception did not even get up from behind his desk to show us where the luggage room was. When we returned at around 5pm to check in, the same receptionist was again extremely unfriendly and made us feel as though we were bothering him. After another 30-minute wait, he finally gave us a room — but not in the hotel we had originally booked, and not even in the hotel where the reception was located. We were sent to another hotel about 100 metres away. Unfortunately, the first room we were given was in the basement, with a very low ceiling and a strong damp smell. We went back to reception to complain. Fortunately, a different, younger receptionist was much more pleasant and apologised. He found us another room on the ground floor at the back of the hotel. The room itself was clean, but the view was directly onto a massive brick wall only about two metres from the window. The bathroom was extremely small. The biggest problem, however, was the mattresses. They were of very poor quality and extremely uncomfortable. My wife, my son and I all slept badly during our stay because of them. We also could not keep the window open because there was loud music from the neighbouring area and a very strong smell of what appeared to be drug smoke. We eventually mentioned this to reception, but were
