Central located Hotel

Liked:The hotel has a very central location, in five minutes you are at Plaza San Martin, in 10-15 minutes at Plaza de Armas. The staff is very friendly and speaks Spanish and English. The rooms are very basic, but they serve their purpose.

Ok, just ok

Liked:Somehow we stayed here at San Agustin Riviera Hotel for 9 days, I knew prior to booking that it was an old colonial hotel and it didn't matter, what I didn't realize was the bad views all around :( and asking at other nicer hotels by Plaza De Armas we concluded that we paid way too much at San Agustin Riviera :( but oh well, too late. Room was ok, everything was in working order, but, there was no safe box, there wasn't a thing in the mini fridge not even water, service was barely there like people just working, only the maid was friendly so we tipped her. Wifi was really slow and unreliable. The included breakfast was also just ok, I can tell you exactly what they had because they didn't have much and it was almost the same everyday since they only switched the potatoes for something else the next day but oh well, we had breakfast and headed out on our daily little adventure around the neighboring areas finding new things to do, see and eat of course! Hotel does offer safe transportation to the airport for S50 which we really appreciated! Would I recommend this hotel? I can say that you can find a better hotel for a better price!

Very poor quality service, unmaintained, and bad smell

Liked:The service staff have a very difficult time understanding English, even when they seem to understand, we receive several calls with incorrect information and have to clarify instructions over and over for checkout and taxi service. The room and hall way had a terrible smell. The floors do not feel clean. They initially lost our reservation and we had to email them our confirmation. Only bright spot was that the breakfast was half decent.

Central location, but definitely not 3 stars

Liked:The rooms are spacious and clean. The furniture Is so outdated. The whole hotel looks like it’s hasn been maintained since the early 80’s! The windows are thin glass in an extremely noisy and polluted city. The glass is very dirty, and so are the thin old curtains. The pillows had brown stains. There was only two power points. The worst was on my last morning, ahead of my flight: I got in the shower, and there was no hot water. When I complained to Reception, the girls just laughed and said “I yeah, we have problems with our water system!” I really thought it was a joke. What she didn’t have the brain to realise is that it was an insult to themselves, to their business, to their customer, and to their struggling country! Lima is a land of deception, pollution, noise, aggression, and annoying impolite merchants. This hotel is no exception.
