Liked:I liked the seclusion and area

Disliked:Ive stayed at springs village tanzawa in the villas a couple times and really loved the facilities. Although in hakone the cottage feel was nice it just didn't seem as well maintained and the amenities outside were pretty sad to be honest. All the furniture was badly damaged around the fireplace area to the point of it being unusable and the bbq area was not much better. I guess my experience at the Tanzawa location was great but coming to Hakone location was a huge leap down. We still made the best of it but a little more love in Hakone would been appreciated. That all said we still love Springs village resorts and will always remember the kindness and great efforts the staff made when our dogs got infested with ticks. For that we will always be great full and will continue to show our support.

Liked:The location was beautiful and if you have a car, easily accessible. Delicious food options in the vicinity (if you drive). The main living room is spacious with a nice table to sit and eat around.

Disliked:Lots of spiders and cockroaches. The outside space would’ve been nice except the chairs were broken so couldn’t be used, and no tools or firestarters provided to light the fire outside that we could find. An insane amount of bugs inside including in the onsen room and it didn’t feel too clean so none of us were comfortable to use it We also were woken up to repeat visits from two men who wouldn’t explain why they kept calling- not sure if they were neighbours or the landlord, but it was unnerving to keep having men turn up with no explanation. A confusing stay.
