Worth the splurge: a spacious hotel room with Eiger view

Liked:We got a well-appointed and spacious room with grand views of the mountains and the valley. It was definitely worth the price. Hotel personnel were warm and hospitable, breakfast food was good, location is about a 5-10min walk to the train station. The only hiccup we encountered was the breakfast on our 2nd day. For the 1st 30mins of breakfast service, they had no warm food available due to an issue with the kitchen. It's not something you expect to see in a 4star hotel.

Wonderful location, with great team spirit amongst the staff.

Liked:Great location, only 5 minutes walk from Grindelwald railway station, with wonderful views of the mountains and surrounding area. Very comfortable in both the public areas and ones own bedroom. Great facilities, including the swimming pool and jacuzzi within the Wellness Area, and in the bedroom. The latter had good blackout curtains, a very comfortable bed, excellent bathroom facilities and even a mini-bar with the initial contents provided courtesy of the hotel. We only used the restaurant for the purpose of breakfast during our 3 nights stay, but there was a large and varied selection of items from which to choose, all being very tasty. The staff were all very friendly and willing to help. There was a great team spirit. It definitely seemed as though nothing was too much trouble for them.

Liked:A lot of small details that make a nice stay. Location was wonderful, pool & hot tub were lovely. We’ve been traveling through Austria & Switzerland and these were the best beds & pillows we’ve had

Disliked:The shampoo & conditioner aren’t very good. Wish we were a floor higher as the hotel in front got in the way of the view a little. Wish there had been a rooftop accessible for full valley views to take advantage of the location.
