We were searching for alternative hotels halfway through our stay…

Liked:- Some members of staff were warm and friendly. - The room itself was excellent and actually one of the nicest rooms we stayed in during our entire trip. It was spacious, open and comfortable. - The hotel is in a really nice setting with lovely scenery, and the outdoor spaces are well looked after - Great beach with clear water and a very relaxed atmosphere. Feels peaceful and quite private

Disliked:I know when we read reviews of hotels where almost everything is positive and there are a few negative ones, we often assume those guests just like to complain. So I’d like to preface this by saying that most of my reviews on Booking.com / Google etc are really positive and I always like to call out when staff have done a great job. Unfortunately, whether we just had an isolated poor experience or not, this hotel was by far the lowlight of an otherwise fantastic trip. After the first couple of nights, we were genuinely looking at alternative accommodation for our final night because we were desperate to get out of there. - Service was consistently slow and disorganised. There seemed to be so many staff around but often nobody actually helping with anything. Breakfast was particularly bad for this, with lots of waiting around for really basic things. - The food looked good and there were plenty of options, but unfortunately the quality was poor. By our third night we ended up going out for dinner specifically to avoid eating at the hotel again. - Some staff were lovely, but others were strangely unfriendly. Walking down the pathways we would smile, say hello etc. and regularly get no eye contact or acknowledgement at all. It created quite a weird atmosphere. - We also felt there was too much pressure around chargeable extras. Obviously there’s nothing wrong with offering additional paid options, but at times it made the experience feel quite transactional. The guided tour we received upon our check in felt very much geared towards the optional extras and we came away feeling very confused. - Breakfast and other meal services felt very disorganised. We regularly saw senior staff pulling junior staff aside and publicly telling them off or instructing them on what they should be doing. It didn’t give the impression of a well-run operation and was uncomfortable to watch. - Towels, sheets etc.

A memorable stay with outstanding hospitality

Liked:Beautiful boutique resort with exceptionally clean and comfortable rooms, lovely gardens and excellent food. The size of the hotel was perfect for us - peaceful and private without feeling isolated. The evening turndown service, in addition to the regular housekeeping, was a particularly lovely touch and made the stay feel that little bit more special. The Mauritian buffet on Thursday evening was particularly memorable, with an amazing variety of delicious local food, all included along with drinks. Complimentary tea was also offered every evening, which was another thoughtful touch. Most importantly all food was halal. What really made the stay special, however, was the staff. They were warm, courteous and remarkably attentive, often remembering our preferences and plans and asking about them later. Reception was extremely helpful and efficient. It is difficult to single out individual staff members as we had such a positive experience with almost everyone we met.

Disliked:Only minor points in an otherwise excellent stay. Drink service was occasionally quite slow, and housekeeping could be more consistent in replacing towels and room amenities. Neither significantly affected our overall experience, but they would be worthwhile areas for improvement.

Liked:The best hotel we have stayed at so far - and we have stayed at quite a few! Everything was absolutely amazing: delicious meals, exceptional hospitality, friendly and helpful staff, beautiful views, and stunning rooms and facilities. We truly loved every moment of our stay and would happily come back!

Liked:Excellent location, very good restaurant, kindness of the stuff. Free water activities.

Disliked:The only thing that could be improved is the room service. It was extremely clean and they very kind all the time, but during our stay they forgot a few times to leave new towels and toilet paper. They quickly solved the issues but I think it could be avoided.
