Beautiful and relaxing stay!

Liked:- Staff were always friendly and ready to help. All spoke English, French and Creole really well in my opinion. - Room was spacious, clean and had excellent storage space. The bathtub always had enough hot water as well as the shower which made it a lovely relaxing experience. - Breakfast buffet was lovely and fresh and à la carte dinner had a lot of choice and again was cooked to order. - Swimming pool was a good size and beach was nice to swim in. More loungers at the beach than the pool. - Peaceful, tranquil and relaxing atmosphere throughout the hotel! - Lovely personal touch for the wedding anniversary.

Disliked:- Communication wasn’t clear enough. We didn’t know there was ‘tea time’ between 4 and 5 for example until our second day as this was not said during check in. - Although a clean hotel, housekeeping was not done at designated times. Quite often I had to call reception for towels and new soap for example. One time my bin had not even been emptied, no tea bags replaced but they’d taken away dirty towels without replacing them. - They’d always answer at reception however it would take a considerable amount of time for them to do what you’ve asked, for example bringing water bottles and bringing a towel.

Shocking service - not 5 star!

Liked:The rooms were big.

Disliked:The staff were very rude in the restaurant and argued with guests regarding the very poor service. Coffee and meals took more than 45mins to be delivered, and it was cold. This exceptionally bad level of service and conduct is not acceptable for a so called “5 star” place. It was a very stressful environment that ruined the holiday day.

False advertising and failure to be honest

Liked:The hotel portrays itself as a 5 star hotel, and that in itself leaves a guest with a level of expectation. The hotel management needs to re-assess its ranking and rating, as it has trained and managed its guest facing staff as if they are 1 or 2 stars. There were inconsistencies between staff statements and what was considered all-inclusive. The all-inclusive just ended being a smoke-screen for a hotel that was never geared for service.

Disliked:I hated the false advertising of the hotel, Mauritian Govt should have stricter rules around false advertising and deception of guests. Hotels that publish false data should be investigated. If I had been aware of the problems of the hotel, I would NEVER have booked the holiday in Mauritius. I would have taken my family to any other island for an island holiday.
