Great Atmosphere, Great Customer Service

Liked:At the end of January, 2026, My wife and I got away for a quick one night stay in the finger Lakes. Our stay at The Geneva on the Lake Hotel was wonderful. The room was exceptional as was the atmosphere in the bar. Breakfast the next morning was also very good. We will definitely stay here when the next opportunity presents itself. We highly recommend this boutique hotel.

Very Dissappointing

Liked:This hotel smelled just like what it was, outdated structure. Rooms were small and outdated, staircases were probably not to code. Misrepresented views of the lake. Non cooperative staff.

Not the resort experience pictured on the website.

Liked:The website suggests a high-end experience, and, unfortunately, the stay you actually have is average, at best. Booked a deluxe suite for 2 nights, thinking that it would have a sitting area, or anything other than sitting in the bed. The room we received had a king bed, one chair (so low to the ground, my five foot frame had issues getting out of it), and a full (dated) kitchen. The fireplace was not functional, and had a sign that said the chimney was removed for safety reasons. The bed was comfortable, and the view was lovely, but the windows did not open. We ate dinner at the restaurant and were terribly underwhelmed by the New York strips we ordered. The server made several mistakes, but was gracious. The bartender was excellent in his recommendations and super helpful with suggestions for the next day. Breakfast the next morning was included in our package, but was still charged to our bill separately, which required a phone call and email to have it (mostly) reversed. Selections for breakfast were limited and only one waitress was serving both rooms, so it required some patience. Overall, it’s fine to sleep or wander the lovely gardens, but do not bother with the restaurant or expect a resort-like experience. I’m sure the Finger Lakes has better to offer at that price point.

Terrible. Unsafe

Liked:Unbeknownst to us, a wedding party was scheduled literally right outside our room door. Party was loud and obnoxious well into the night. Drunk wedding guests tried to forcibly enter our room and we have not had any rest after paying hundreds of dollars to get away for the weekend. Aside from the loudness and disruption, we felt very unsafe even in our room and definitely wouldn’t have been able to leave our room. Don’t go here, it was an incredibly unsafe environment
