Worst Experience at Ocean Eden Bay - Not 4 or 5 Star, do not book here

Liked:Typically I do not write reviews as I find that each person’s experience could be different. I’ve traveled around the world staying at many different resorts, hotels and private lodging. I’ve been in Jamaica over 15 different trips between Montego Bay, Ocho Rios & Negril. While I want to be fair in the review there are many important factors to address. This is NOT worth the money and would not recommend staying here. This is a bottom barrel resort. POSITIVE: Ice Cream was amazing Lunch stir fry and pasta stations Sailing was great. Breakfast at the Marlin (however only available Monday & Friday). NEGATIVES (a lot): There are no umbrellas at the pool at all. No real events at the pool, zero organized activities. Not a great activity team for guests. You can only get a cabana if you have privilege - cannot buy individually. My boyfriend has cancer and even though we offered to pay a privilege rate just for him, just so he could sit underneath a cabana (and he would not be using anything else) they would not sell to just him without everyone booking it in the room even though he was the only person we needed a cabana for. Drinks have zero alcohol unless you pay for upgrade privilege or ask for two shots to pour into your drinks to get a better alcohol choices Rooms are unfinished, paint chipping everywhere, bathroom odors from sewage. Leaks from sinks, toilets and showers. Only 2 face towels per day. Beds are not comfortable. Beds are terrible. No real TVs stations. WiFi is spotty everywhere. Lots of hidden prices for things throughout the property. Adults only side barely has anything separate from the kids side. All activities and most restaurants on Coral Spring side. Only 1 area to get towels by the pool, no real beach service unless Privilege. Can’t get towels at the beach. Only a few huts for coverage beach side very small. Water obviously beautiful but lots of seaweed and must wear water shoes. A Red Bull is $7-$10 per each one, with specials they change everyday to be higher or lower. Shows are mediocre. Food is mediocre (expect for lunch / breakfast specifics mentioned above). Restaurants and Staff are not fine dining if that’s what you expect. All stores close at 10 pm, actually 9:58 pm as staff waits by door and won’t let you in. Do not book with Jamaica tours any excursions - Georgina lied and said we were not booked for ATVs & Horseback riding even though written on our receipt. We also booked 2 buggies in advance which when we arrived at Chukka Activity center they said we could only have one. Even though we pre booked 3 days in advance. We had to argue with them 1 hour just to get started on the ATVs to be told we didn’t have horseback riding. Had to dispute this another hour and then finally were able to ride. After calling Georgina with Jamaica Tours. She finally admitted it was her error in the booking after loosing 3 hours of our day. Check out was an awful experience. almost missed our transportation to the airport. We waited over 30 minutes for a bellman who never arrived and we had to carry our bags 1/4 mile to the lobby in the heat. We were told we had to check out only to try to dispute charges for items not received and had to pay for them anyways just to cut off wristbands. Bell staff was horrible and non responsive. Front desk has zero customer service. When you try to speak to managers they are always in meetings and unavailable. This is not a 4 or 5 star hotel. If looking for that do not book here.

Amazing!!!

Liked:It was a great experience from get go starting from the airport to the shuttle to the resort. The entire staff were very friendly, kind, polite, and courteous. We enjoyed our 10th anniversary there. The food the resort itself was fantastic. We o Had our concierge, Toni-Ann made sure every moment we had a pleasant time from reserving our restaurants, to recommending the activities, to room services. It was a great customer service. I highly recommend it to check this resort.

Love stay

Liked:We went for our 5 year anniversary and it was amazing. Room was nice and clean, the food was good, and the staff was always very helpful. There was always something to do. We booked an excursion and it was very fun. We will def be back in the future. Toni Ann was very helpful and answered all of our requests promptly!
