No Room at the Inn? Never again!

Liked:My husband and I were to stay here at the beginning of our Scotland vacation. I had been in England for three weeks for work, and he had arrived just that morning, so we were both tired and jet lagged, and more than ready for the luxurious room we had reserved. Upon arrival, we were very quickly told that there was no room available for us (this is a HUGE hotel, so this was a little hard to comprehend) and that a taxi was on its way to take us to one of their sister properties on the Royal Mile. I pushed back a little, but they were not willing to budge. The entire experience felt so offensive--like we were not wanted there and were being shuttled to a "lesser" property on the busiest, most touristy street in town. If I had wanted to stay over on the Royal Mile I would have booked a room there, but since we were looking for something a little nicer and wanted to rest, I booked this hotel at this location. Needless to say, I will never book at this hotel again. At the end of our trip we stayed right next door at the Gleneagles Townhouse and had a completely different experience--one that I will gladly repeat next time I'm in town.
