Lovely city but hotel overpriced and room small

Liked:Very friendly, helpful staff. Nice location within walking distance of many restaurants and tourist attractions.

Disliked:Room was tiny, had an unpleasant odor, and seemed expensive for its size. We are both small adults, but we could barely move around at the same time. I wouldn't recommend for a larger person.

The Most Disappointing Hotel Stay I've Experienced

Liked:The staff were very friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The hotel has a modern appearance and is within reasonable walking distance of Edinburgh city centre. Could be a practical option for a single night business trip.

Disliked:Awful lighting throughout the room - the bathroom was actually brighter than the main room, which was particularly frustrating during the night when using the bathroom. The lack of a window meant there was no natural light, which I could accept, but the poor artificial lighting made the room feel dark and uninviting. The air conditioning unit was extremely loud and distracting, making it difficult to relax or get a good night's sleep. Combined with the lack of ventilation, the room often felt stuffy and uncomfortable. The bed was very uncomfortable, and the pillows were among the worst I've experienced. They offered virtually no support, to the point where we had to put clothes underneath them just to sleep comfortably. The bathroom was also exceptionally small. When sitting on the toilet, there was so little space that it was easy to bump your head against the wall directly in front. I was also disappointed that the room felt much smaller than expected based on the photos advertised online. The images make the rooms appear considerably more spacious than they are in reality, which was misleading and added to the overall disappointment on arrival. Despite understanding that Edinburgh hotels can be expensive, the overall experience did not represent good value for money. Overall, while the staff and location were positives, the room's comfort, lighting, and ventilation significantly impacted our stay, and I would not choose to stay here again.

Excellent stay

Liked:Last year i complained about this hotel as the staff were so rude however on this stay it was completely different- all staff couldn't have been more welcoming, freindly, approachable and professional.

Early check-in is available from 12pm instead of 3pm and late check out is available at 2pm instead of 11am is at an additional fee of £15. Subject to availability. For bookings of more than 9 rooms, please contact the hotel directly to discuss availability and arrangements. Note on housekeeping: Rooms are cleaned daily including towels changed. Room linen is changed after 3 nights.
