great accommodation, just work on customer service

Liked:Great location, just what we needed, comfy and clean

Disliked:Collecting the keys was difficult and not as explained. We ended up in another womens apartment as our key allowed us access. Once sorted everything was great.

Disliked:Couldn't get into the building as the key card reader didn't work, no staff on site, but after a quick call, issue was resolved by being redirected to the back entrance.

Liked:The positives The studio is as shown — equipment is in good condition and the room was neat and tidy on arrival. Complimentary tea and coffee, plus utensils for light cooking, are useful touches for a short stay.

Disliked:I'm anticipating the owner will respond with some snide remark, so I'm leaving this review purely for those considering a stay. In short: don't. Your money is better spent at a hotel, even if it costs £20–£30 more a night. The unit is entirely unsuitable for summer. I stayed during the recent heatwave, but the day I arrived was an average summer day, with a high of around 28°C, and the room was already unpleasant. It only got worse with each passing day. I wouldn't have left a review at all if not for one comment at checkout that tipped me over. When I called to return the keys, the owner/receptionist (I think they're the same person) asked how my stay was. I said the room was nice but had been uncomfortable because of the heat. He replied sarcastically: "Well, you'll have to blame God for that. We don't have ACs in this country and it gets a bit hot a few days a year." To be clear: I'm not an entitled tourist demanding air conditioning. I've lived in the UK for seven years and every household I know owns at least a decent-sized table fan. I had asked Covstays twice before arrival to leave a fan in the room. When I called to collect my keys, I was told they hadn't left one because "the heatwave only started the next day." The forecast had said otherwise for days — and because I'd been allocated an attic studio (one of several up there, so this wasn't bad luck), the room was already very warm. Inside the closet I found a fan the size of my hand (photo attached), running at an abysmal speed. The next day I asked for a larger fan. I was told they were out, and that if I left mine on the desk, they'd "see if it could be swapped." Given the tone of the previous exchange, I refused because I was certain I'd end up with no fan at all. My question is simple: how hard is it to buy a £20 table fan when you're charging £80 a night?
