Looks Nice in Photos – Expensive, Uncomfortable and Stressful from Start to Finish

Liked:Location was good. Easy access from town. Some grocery shops were close. The girl who handed over the key was nice and polite. The issue with keys not working was eventually resolved after a lot of waste of time trying to open the doors, when we finally gave up trying and spoke to the management.

Disliked:Very disappointing stay and poor value for money. We waited a long time for the key handover, then neither key appeared to work. Only after contacting management were we given complicated instructions on how to use them, which should have been explained at check-in. The mattresses were worn and uneven. The bathroom was extremely small and had a persistent musty, damp smell, with no window and only a tiny extractor fan. The shower curtain repeatedly stuck to me while showering and did not prevent water spilling across the floor, so we had to mop after every shower. The worst problem was the complete lack of sound insulation. For both nights I could hear the occupants above talking loudly and dragging furniture until around 5am, making it extremely difficult to sleep. I contacted management through Booking.com messages and the emergency contact numbers provided, but received no response when we needed help. I have kept records of these communications. I was also very unhappy about the £200 security deposit, which I only became aware of after booking/check-in. Had I realised this beforehand, I would not have booked. There were numerous cleaning steps and checkout rules, including taking our rubbish outside ourselves. We spent part of our short holiday cleaning rather than relaxing. Fresh towels or bed linen were also subject to additional charges. For the price paid, I expected comfortable accommodation and effective assistance when problems arose. Unfortunately, the uncomfortable beds, bathroom conditions, severe overnight noise and lack of response from management made this a very poor experience. I would not stay here again.

Our 2nd home.

Liked:The location minutes to Metro and to the small friendly town with all of the conveniences nearby. Would like to return to our 2nd home.

Disliked:My wife had some stomach issues. Access to English channels would be nice.
