Excellent hostel with many amenities and great location

Liked:This was my 3rd time staying at Next House Copenhagen! While there are many options available in the city, I always come back here because of how convenient it is, how clean it is, and how great the amenities are. The location is perfect - barely a 10 min was to Kobenhvn H station, and the airport bus stops right outside the hotel so coming or leaving at odd hours is no problem! The room was comfortable, and had just what I needed for my overnight layover this time. Checking in and out was easy. The lobby space and social areas are so cool!

Disliked:I had a small problem locking the door upon leaving the room and had to try several times to get the door properly locked using the app. The bolt on the door wouldn't retract unless I tap my phone on it, hold the door shut tight for a few seconds, and then wait until I hear it locking. Maybe it was just that room, because I had no problems during my previous 2 stays.

Liked:I really enjoyed my stay at Next House Copenhagen. The hostel is exceptionally well equipped—you can find almost everything you need in one place, from great common areas to excellent facilities. One of the best things is that the hostel organizes different events every day, making it very easy to meet other travelers and enjoy a fun, social atmosphere.

Disliked:What I didn’t like was that the elevators were very small and often crowded. The rooms were extremely small, with almost no space to store or hang clothes, which made longer stays less comfortable. I was also disappointed with the breakfast, as the selection was quite limited and did not meet my expectations.

Great for the price

Liked:The location is great for the price, very close to the central train station. The bathroom was small but functional, decent towels and soap provided. The bed was surprisingly large and comfortable (given the price, of course). There was air conditioning but also the ability to partially open the window for some old-fashioned ventilation. Higher ceiling helped the room to not feel cramped despite its small size. There was useful place for luggage storage under the bed.

Disliked:There should be a clear explanation on how to close the door as it is a bit confusing. It wouldn't hurt either to have a better method of doing that than slamming the door. The fact that the digital key needed to open staircase doors is the one marked "lift" in the app should be more clearly labeled. Too many button presses are needed to activate the digital key, I feel that the last one is completely unnecessary. In general the whole "keys in the app" thing felt like an unnecessarily complicated gimmick.
